So to all the guys in here, going by what you have experienced, do you think women dig the bike?

Something like 1 in 10 bikers are women (so I read somewhere)

What do the non biking women think?

Im not going to comment...ill leave that to the women...but if you want tail then an SV probably isnt the best choice of bike, its a bit budget...doesnt give the right impression :p

A duke should help you out if you 'struggle' in that department...might not get you from A-B though

Who cares? I got the bike for my own pleasure not for chasing tail.

I think that most girls woudlnt give a stuff what sort of bike I rode. I'd hope that they liked me for me, not what "Stuff" I might have.

If I thought they only liked me for my bike or other material possesions then TBH I probably wouldnt be that interested in them in the first place.

a non-biking woman (or bloke for that matter) wouldn't have a clue about whether or not an SV is "budget".

I beg to differ.....dont get me wrong i love the SV...but its not really sexy is it.

With regards to the guy admiring your bike.....was it eviltwin and was he after a shag?

I reckon biking women are sexy, the nicer the bike the more so

However I am a car/bike geek therefore appreciate these things someone who doesn't take an interest may find someone on a honda C90 sexy?

No, No No. bikes are a means to an end. What women appreciate is a bloke who understands he needs a little bit of me time. Knows how to relax and then can appreciate the us time.

Whenever I start to climb the walls, my wife makes a point of asking me to go out for a couple of hours. (Well trained or what).

Seriously, if your asking the question, you have insecurities. Women pick up on them big time and either play them to their advantage or run big time. Be a man and tell them what the package consists of. 9 out of 10 may run. But the 1 that stays will dig you long time

Are bikes sexy. No they are lump of metal, high maintenance yes. they may blow your balls off. But they can't gi ed. so definately negative on the sexy scale

Endellion
28-06-07, 11:20 PM
Can I just say that I asked this in interest, I have not bought a bike to pull women, I did cause I had to satisfy my bike lust, I have wanted to get a bike for 10+ years

I think bikes are sexy, but then I have passion and can see that when someone comes along and designs a 916/1098 they have too

Maybe I am in the minority

Chuckle, I'm waaay too old for this sorta thing now. Not sure, I think there's definitely something in it but what's probably happening is your just attracting those of the opposite sex who appreciate what you're in to. So people with bikes naturally get a +1 from people who are in to bikes, people who are in to dominos and star trek conventions naturally get a +1 from people who are in to that.

Over the last fifteen years (gulp) I think it's definitely been a conversation starter if nothing else, and one or two made ego-satisfying remarks along the lines of "it's not so much the bike but the bloke in leathers". But then they were pervs :D Luckily, I'm quite partial to pervy women...

I think more non-biking men find a bike + woman sexy than vice versa.

Possibly because if a woman isn't into bikes already, then she's unlikely to find a lump of machinery 'attractive'...

... but a bloke is more likely to just be turned on by a nice bit of tail in leather. ;)

I love the way women eye you up on a bike even though they have no idea what you look like (I'm handsome by the way, if a little rough araound the edges!)!!!!

Interestingly, I went to pick up my wife from the pub last night on my bike - she'd been out for the evening with some old work friends and although she'd got the bus there I didn't want her getting the bus back late at night (aaah).

She heard me arrive outside and they all came out as all the others were going back home in their cars and they hadn't realised until that point that she was going home pillion and all of a sudden there were 6 women crowding round saying, 'ooh, is it fast?' 'Do you get scared on the back?' 'Ooh I'd never let my husband have a bike' that sort of thing and although they knew nothing about biking they were all interested cos it's 'a bit different'.

I'm not sure any of them would have immediately jumped in to bed with me but it certainly created more attention than if I'd been sitting waiting in a car!

Cheers,
Matt

i've found that most people are like 'woah bikes are good'. dont really know of anyone that doesn't like to see a nice bike go past, but then again i know a considerably small percentage of people in this country

i think it is a pretty sexy image, maybe not conventionally but perhaps it also gives off vibes of the rider being fun and exciting or whatever

but then again that could be a load of trollop brought on by the remains of a pound a pint

and when it boils down to it, if it suits the wearer...

"Tail" - lol

We use "flange"

Any time I've been approached by some "flange" or spoke about bikes in the boozer in the company of flange. It's always the same - bikes are cool but leathers are sexy

EDIT: Just remembered. Out in South queensferry one day last summer with my mate. Me on K6 in blue - him K6 in "Silver/blue". Chatting to some women who said mine's was a cool colour but his was "a bit girly". PMSL. Neither of us were as as cool as the guys on the rr's and ninja's though.8)

Being a college man, I can speak from experience...My girlfriend loves..well loved to ride with me until I laid it down about 6 weeks ago and broke my ankle. I'm all mended up and riding again, but she doesn't want to get back on. Too bad for her. Anyway, before I was strapped down it seemed like every other female friend I had wanted to experience and ride on the bike. Now, I realize that it probably had nothing to do with the way the bike looked...I can't help that I'm incredibly good looking for a short guy, but all things aside the only kind of girl I'd ever be interested in would be the kind that would want to hop on the bike just for the thrill. If she's not a thrill seeker or at least willing to try something once, then she's not my cup'o tea.

P.S. As far as the "off" goes, it was my first. Just had a mental blank and downshifted without rev-matching before going into a corner. I had to steer it off the road into a soft grassy ditch. Only cosmetic damage to the bike, already repainted and fixed up and running strong as ever!

well i am female and love bikes. have done since teenage years, that was mostly to annoy my mum though. used to go pillion with a variety of mad pals. have my own bike now and dont like going pillion anymore.

I like looking at bikes and hearing them but unless the name is written on the bike (thank you fireblades) I dont know one from the other and have no interest in being able to name them.

I doubt just having a bike would attract the opposite sex unless they had a vague interest in them. boys seem to be more interested than girls.

But helmets are a great advantage for all the crockadilly swamp donkeys out there as they cover your face. giving you a chance to talk to a girl/boy whereas if you were in a pub with face on full show, they would probably be beating you with a stick lol

I have to say I don't find bikes sexy per se...I am a little more impressed if a bloke I like has his own motorbike, because mine's a single seater, and I don't intend changing it back just to take pillion. But it wouldn't make me find him more or less attractive...I tend to go on his attributes, his smile, his humour, and his ability to have decent conversations with me over material items. But then not all women are like me...so you may find you get different answers!

Im gonna break from the curve here and say women bikers dont really do it for me....see we dont meet all generalisations :)

I wouldn't see a woman on a bike and think sexy....i would wait until the lid came off and then make a judgement...no point jumping the gun is there!

Saw this thread from the front page, and HAD to join in...

From a "non-bikers" perspective (i.e. a cage lover!) Man on a bike, DEFO hot! I like the appeal. To me, it signifies a man that lives life on the edge... that's attractive to me... It's true, if a biker passes me while im in my putt-putt, I will give them the once over (it would be rude not to)... It brightens up my ever-so-dull journey  (it didnt cross my mind until now, that it could be a biker chick!)

On the other hand, it does matter what the bike is... A trail bike would be a defo not hot! I wouldn't put the Sv at the top of my hot list (that's reserved for Italian brands), but I've been on the back of my bros, and It's fast, that's all that matters to me ;) bring on the adrenaline!

Kitkat: your "beating you with a stick" comment, had me in fits

Now then people just thought I'd throw my opinion in there. I think some people find bikes sexy and some dont, a bit like some prefer blondes, some brunettes, but those that do I think it's down to the fact that a bike says alot about the person riding in. After all to me a bike says that the rider is a bit of a free spirit with a mind of their own and the need to be a bit different from the norm. And to me a lass with those qualities is half way there to being sexy! And the leather helps too!

According to my current girlfriend of 2 years, it was my old sportsbike-style Yammy TZR50 moped that attracted her to start with (followed by my deep voice). She LOVES the sound of the SV and thinks riding a bike is cool although she wouldn't want to do so herself.
