Mrs Mousetrapper and I would also like to say a big Thanks to the event organisers and marshalls (I should employ some of these on all my future rides works much better than a GPS!!). Back home on sunny scottish land, oh the joys... note to self: BRING A WATERPROOF TENT (and prefereably one that will fit me in aswell as my luggage).
Sorry for disapearing and not poping up to little chef with everyone this morning, I was just feeling so wet and cold I had to leave, the clouds heading towards our site just tipped me over the edge.

A huge thank you to everyone that was involved in organising this weekend - I had a brilliant time, despite the god-awful weather last night.
I feel i should apologise again to the route-planners for getting absolutely plastered on Friday night & then missing the ride on Saturday due to still being well over the limit! From what everyone else said though, the efforts were very appreciated and lots of people came back with big grins on their faces, so well done for a good rideout. :D
Big thanks to Ping too for looking after a very hungover me on Saturday morning & feeding me bacon butties!
And on the subject of feeding me, thanks to everyone who had a hand in creating a cracking barbie last night :thumright:
Last but by no means least - thank you Stretchie for providing us all with an endless source of entertainment! :smt098  I wub u really mate ;)
THANKYOU!
To:
Rictus who I belive masterminded much of the dastardly deed.
Rest of the organisers without whom it would have just been a field of wet bikers somewhere in 't North.
BBQers (organisers, buyers, cookers, bread runers) for feeding the soaking masses.
Fish 'n' chip run & beer taxi's - Big thumbs up for that.
Last but not least - all the brave souls that turned up to make it what it was.
Personal thanks to Ping for giving me the final push needed to make my mind up to go & Jar for navigating me there and back and providing a tent thing, even if it did leak.
Other:
Ya prolly noticed I had the camera out a fair bit, I'll be hunting through the piccies later to see if anything is worth posting.
A huge thank you to so many people - Bear for putting me up Thursday night, the Soho Massive for being so welcoming, Deeas and Jamaxx for cooking, KrazyKim for taking ALL my luggage from Newport Pagnell to the campsite and so many others I just cant remember!
TOP TOP weekend - cant wait for AE08 now! :D
especially the various brolly dollies who kept me and Saeed dry while trying to cook!:smt038
Wow never been called a dollie before! Top job on the cooking too both of you cheers! :D

And finally to everyone who turned up.

Again, as above, a big thanks to all who helped to organise & run the event. I tried to thank everyone at the little chef, but probably forgot a few, apologies.
Nothing else to add really, now I'm the official .org chef I guess its up to me to sort out next years barbie!
Viper has offered a hog roast next time ;)
Also, thanks to stretchie for the laughs, even though it was at your expense. I was thinking of you on the way back when 2 cars tried to repeat. Fair made me giggle as I passed the soaking copper.
Thank you everyone. I really enjoyed myself. It was soo nice to be made welcome since I was a newbie with the wrong bike :D such a great bunch of people, I can't wait till next year!

nothing to add..
all been said..
was awesome weekend and already I am having withdrawal symptoms -
the schedule went a bit out of the window but hey we all had a great time.. and that is because of attitude,... brilliant outlook by everyone.
we didnt get a chance to all group together and thank Rictus for all his hard work and the lads who rode up from London for a couple of days to plan the route and do all the prep..
these things dont just materialise ... they need a hell of a lot of planning-
I know everyone appreciates it .. and I dont think one person just "turned up" and took it all for granted..
well done Verna for organising the collection and seeing that ,, hopefully ...not too many people were too out of pocket.
have just had a few hours kip - bike is still filty and all loaded up with my gear.. I will get around to it. sometime..
currently I am enjoying wallowing in the warm glow that is the Org... as the saying goes- strangers are just friends you havent met yet- .. a load of folks dumped in a field with bikes and rain as a common denominator AND WHAT A WEEKEND WE MADE IT.
cheers all of ya !

Yep, huge huge congratulations and thank yous to everyone involved in the organisation, the planning, the marking, the provision of roofs... it could've been a complete mess with the weather but instead was fantastic- outstanding job. I didn't get much of a chance to do this in person on the grounds that, eh, I was hammered so:

No worries fella, glad you're back & take care with that foot of yours! The run we had to the M6 was very nice. Apologies about opening my big mouth before we got down to Slaidburn though.
I forgot before to thank those that did the reccy run for routes, even when some of those doing the graft couldn't actually attend the event itself!! Big thanks guys, the roads were a great mix. A little too challenging for some, and possibly a little boring for others. So a perfect choice for the group IMO.
I have a huge list of thank you's ..........
Paul mate sorry you couldnt make the AR on the duc this year but thanks for going up with everyone and organising a route with them.
Jambo our tail end charlie.. who also helped get various bike parts together to get mine running and be able to make the event.
Sid Squid for offering plan b's for me attending this year.
Treacle our esteemed ride out leader and route planner.. well I guess having a green bike was bound to stand out a little better ;)
Verna, viney, kim, ping and all other support vehicles for doing the bbq food, beer and fish n chip runs.
Northy,.. thanks for the loan of your leather jacket to be set alight to ;)
As you all know a lot of planning went into this years event and it certainly showed it was a great route we lost no one, everyone stayed rubber side down and considering it wasnt the best weather this is just a fantastic result.
My personal biggest thank you is to Rictus.. Mark once again thank you for spending so much time in getting my bike back on the road and allowing me to make it to the AR07 on my own bike (all be it other peoples parts ;) ) ... as Verna said we know you dont like a fuss but tough luck!!! .. It was great to have you there the event wouldnt have been the same without you!
Lovely to meet new faces as always and good to catch up with others. This is what this forum is all about.
Cheers everyone, I had a good time... Plus I love marking...

I was apprehensive about marking at first - but I was more than happy to help out! Glad I did too - as it was great fun! :D

I think I might have had to much on.
As everyone else has said already - what a brilliant weekend, in spite of the weather. Thanks to all those who put so much into the planning - especially Rictus; as well as the impromptu helpers (gazebo-getters, fish & chip fetchers, BBQ food organisers, chefs [even the Little one]).
Thanks to Ping for her superb Moonbase 1 hospitality. Thank you to Kim for driving us both around the rideout route in her car on Saturday (I might have even had a sneaky kip here and there). Although I'd wimped out of going on the bike at the last minute (too many items of my kit have forgotten what the word 'waterproof' means), it was still a great opportunity to meet up with everyone and have a great weekend. Top marks to everyone who braved the elements to make it there on the bikes - especially those who were feeling a little apprehensive for confidence reasons etc.
Bring on AR08!
That's a big thank you to everyone from me too. Had such a wonderful weekend meeting and laughing with you all. It was my first AE, and most definitely won't be my last.
Praise be to the organisers.
:notworthy:
btw: Moonbase 1 was supposed to be an 'open' tent where people could come in, sit down, chat, drink, dry their kit if needed, but word seemed not to get around. Was a pleasure to have those of you who did come in, come in..

I was considering taking you up on your offer of the spare room for the night. But I figured I was already drenched, I may aswell stay that way rather than imposing on you, was my own fault really anyway. But thank you for the offer :)
