Hi all,

I've been asked by a friend (non-rider but an amateur car racer) whether the SV650 engine (K6) is wet sump or dry sump. I told him that I think it is a wet sump but I am not exactly the mechanical type and very new to bike riding :( so thought I will ask the experts.

Thanks,

It is a wet sump, dry sumps tend to turn up on exotica such as of the Aprilia RSV motors etc....

It is.

Usually nowadays wet sumps are only used to reduce engine size rather than any performance or drag benefit.
