yes, unless you have a GB EU style number plate.

I think it can be a bit smaller than the old ones that went on the car when I was a kid, but this is not a legally certain comment.
yeah, its required to show that your not a foreiger, just in a country full of foreigners.
I never bothered the 2 times I took my bike to France. I also saw lots of other UK bikes without them at the ferry port (lots of bikes DID have them though). Never had any bother in France.
They are only a couple of quid so why not get one. I did try but there was nowhere to put it on my bike.

I'm off to France on Friday and I can't be bothered. Don't know where I'd put it either (no way I'm sticking it to the paintwork!). Didn't bother last year when I went to Germany either!

As far as I can see there really isn't anywhere to put it. It's supposed to be visible from the rear but the only flat surfaces at the back are the number plate and the brake light, neither of which you want to cover. Helmet is an option but you're not supposed to stick things to helmets (remember that from your CBT?).

Yep sure do.
Your right enough, there's nowhere sensible to put it.:-k
I think I'll use those excuses if I get bother:-dd

I think I'm gonna change my number plate for one that has an EU-style badge, job done.

Alas, my 7x5 plate would probably not fit an EU-style badge :( I would have to make the lettering smaller which I don't want to do, I always think it looks a little cluttered on bikes too (cars are better cos of the width of the plate, but even so still look a little squashed).
