I helped a biker out today …
He was outside Halfords when I rolled up … he was a total noob (only had his bike 3 days) and wanted help with his brakes (he thought he needed new pads as the brakes were spongy) … I got my tools out of my rucksack and took his calliper off (some Gillara thing that wasn’t in the book). Took the pads out and informed him they had plenty of meet and showed him the wear indicators … at tat point I put it to him his brakes might need bleeding, or even time for braided hoses. I further said that if he was going to fit hoses he’d need to bleed the brakes at that point, so we might as well buy a bleed kit there and then and give it a try it might give him enough …
So there we were, covered in brake fluid in Halfords carpark!! :D Anyway, bleed the brakes, it was an improvement, but sure enough if he wanted proper brakes it was time for a braided line … in all I prolly helped him out for about 20mins … he was so pleased I had helped and said he had learnt a great deal … he offered me a fiver as a gesture for my time, I said don’t be silly and to put it back in his pocket where it belongs …
Aren’t I a wonderfully selfless person!! O:) O:)O:)O:)O:)O:) :D

Nope and nope ... someone wanted help, asked nicely and on that occasion I was in the mood/wasn't in a rush so happy to help. Ordinarily I would have spat at him and walked on!!

I have helped quite a few kids (adults too) on minimotos out trackside, if they make the correct approach/ask nicely and I am not 'in the thick of it' myself (i.e. fixing my bike or getting ready to ride) then I am generally more than happy to help. :smt019

Your petty dig didn't go 747, hence my little 't0ss' smiley as that is obviously what you were trying to be!! ;) I just threated the comment with the respect it deserved!!
I wrote the rest of it in order to show you and Mr Rictus that you shouldn't be so quick to judge ... :p

Sorry Bluey, I must of misjudged you. I just find it hard to get my head round you coming over all nice when you generally go out of your way to tell people that you don't normally have any concern for anybody else or their feelings.
I'll stand in the corner corrected. But please, calling people names is an infringement of forum rules ,so please lay off of the :toss: stuff. That's one time that if even you have an opinion, you should keep it to yourself....

I never said that!! Just coz I don't blanket pretend to care about EVERYONE, doesn't mean I don't care about ANYONE*!! ;) I am sorry that you are unable to make the differentiation between such things!! Besides helping someone fix their bike isn't exactly 'caring' about them!?!
As for the 'name calling' bit ... hang on a sec, so you can blatantly mock me, but I can't mock you?!!? :p If you want to get into technicality at no point did I 'call' you anything!! :smt019 :smt040
*and I actually stated that I would care it it were friend or family - but that like so many things seems to have gone 747!!

I would suggest that comments made on another controversial thread by Blue have probably made people formulate a certain view of him. This half hearted attempt to regain favour and acceptance I think, comes way too soon and in truth is completely wasted. Not to mention a touch out of character.
A hint of "give as dog a bad name" I am afraid, but then again there is only one person to blame for that.

Ok my 2ps worth as it's about time.
Yes, Bluey can come across as a tit  sometimes...sure he knows that himself BUT Jelster you are the last person that should be "sounding off"
I'll refresh your memory for you.
Remember the member of the site that died on his bike sometime ago?
NO?
Another clue for you then. He died on a Friday I believe.
NO?
Maybe this might bring it all back to you. There was a should we say keeping for him and Fizzy Fish (I think) put a post up asking for those that may wish/able to attend.
Recall what your reply was?
Well well well Mr Jelster, your reply was along the lines of "there is a football match, blah blah blah" . In other words my friend, you have iMHO being guilty of similar and shouldn't be giving it the "all this & that" .
It's nothing personal mate but sometimes my long term memory just gets "pinged" for no apparent reason. Truth is the above posts by you are verging on the "hypocritical" at the very least.
Peace and love to all and don't forget...keep it real fellas......haha
Ben
ps: if still in doubt, I'll dig the post up for you ;)

After consideration of the original post in this thread, I'd normally have applauded the selfless act, however give previous posts on Charity and the limits of care, it does come across as self praising fortuitous timing indeed.
I am left with two possible conclusions,
Either you were fictitious in previous threads; leading me to believe you’re just playing an adversarial role, in which case anything you post is of dubious merit.
Or
These weren’t fictitious and are a true reflection of your view point, demonstrate a rather mobile nature to that perspective.
In both these scenarios you credibility is diminished if not destroyed.

seems to be the most likely of motivations.
Cheers Mark.
