it was a tough decision but I decided to trade my pride and joy Triumph Daytona 955i SE for GSXR 1000.

Picked it up today and been on a 100 mile jaunt to try it out with Kamakazy on her K3. :p

The trumpet felt great on way to dealers :( - bit of a wrench but her mileage was beinning to show and I was just waiting for the big bills to come in.

The gixer is brilliant, looks pretty good, fast, responsive, nimble all a sports should be and although older than the trumpet looks a bit more modern, but I have to say it doesn't feel as good as the Trumpet neither and does the K3 - but its early days. Pics will follow but my need for food is taking precedence...:D

Suppose I'd better change my 'name' any nice clean suggestions? Thought about Umfster :smt047

Nice one, but I guess I'm bound to say that. In the 'right' colour as well. How does it compare to the K3?

Doesn't feel much different to the K3 but I'll have to do some more tresting to be sure :smt098

But sorry the Daytona was better overall IMHO (so far) if not qute as fast!

I guess it'll take some time to get used to. When I got mine I was definitely slower initially than when I had the SV (apart from the running in bit) it all felt different but I take it easy anyway. It's a big change from what you are used to. You'll allways miss that Trumpet though I think.

Yup I do feel a little guilty, not sure why never have done with previous bikes but there was something special about it.

A bit like trading one of your kids in? Nah, I loved me bike!!!!:D

The only 'real' colour for a gixer (OK they still look bloody good in other colours as well). Could be a problem if they're all parked up together mind. Having said that it makes my bike look small :p

That's why I sold a beautiful GSXR1000 K1 to buy my Daytona 955i SE. The Gixer was a great "quick fix for an addict" bike, but I couldn't live with it for long, my licence was in danger of becoming extinct.

The Daytona is great real world sports bike for the road.

That does sum it up pretty well, but the Trump had to go :( Haven't gone mad on the gixer and actually find it easy to cruise on since it pulls so well in high gears from slow speeds.
