I was sure Bennetts used to only care about the last 2 years, now they want to know about the last 3 for accidents. Others I've seen want to know about the last 5 years.

Does anyone know of insurers who only want to know about accidents up to 2 years ago?

Yeah, thebikeinsurer were the ones who wanted 5 years accident history.

Most insurers hike the costs so much for an accident, I'm now wishing I'd chased it through the courts for 100% fault of the third party.

Looks like I'll just have to wait until next June (£1000 tpft for an R1 Vs £230, for the sake of a year)... could have sworn Bennetts only wanted 2 years accident info. for the last several years...

Ok so you've got comparison prices and the difference is massive.

Sometimes having an accident on your history doesn't make too much difference. I've found my age was a much bigger penalty. I've got a car bump on my history and I'm still very happy with the quote.

I'd 2nd the bike insurer thing if you haven't actually put the details in. Two reasons. a) they have to ask for stuff to cover all the people they quote on behalf of - some of them might not care\process it. b) You tend to get follow up phonecalls from them (I've had them on all three occasions I've used the site) and you might get someone keen for the business who can use their discretion to get you a good quote. I had someone call me within 5 mins of running the quote. They upped the cover (mileage, protected NCB) and knocked a healthy % off their original quote.

Failing that ring round and try and tell your story, which is what I used to do.
