If ya see a Red pointy about it might be me this weekend! In the area to help a mate move house around Fleet. Prolly not gonna have much time to go play on the bike tho'.

Coo, so it's like a trike. With the rear axle from a transit!
I live 5 mins from Fleet, if you want to hook up for a drink at the Ely let me know.
Hmm - 2.5 litre V-twin diesel Transit trike - that would be something to behold - though I'm not sure you'd want to drive it.
I don't think I am going to be able to meet for a pint (much as I like the idea)... on this occasion (flying visit really just to lend a hand). But if I'm down again I'll try and work things so I might be able to (kinda difficult to visit someone then dissapear for the evening :-))
Any roads I could try and 'visit' on my up or down?

The A339 to Alton and then Basingstoke is awesome.
Try our local track, If you're in Fleet it's on just on the other side of the A331

Cheers!
Been spending some time on Autoroute this eve. Found the 'track' and all but one of the roads listed. I look forward to playing.
Likley to be out earlyish on Sunday if you want to be shown some of the better roads round these parts. Got a pass for a good couple of hours but need to be back by lunchtime.
That's a cool offer...
but I'll admit it I'm a wimp and if this weather continues I shan't bother with the SV :-( Getting soaked in one direction is ok, but putting soaking kit on the next day isn't my cup of tea.
I'll see how the forecast plays out though the evening.
PM me your number and I'll text you saturday evening to see how you feel. I'll also not be out if it's tipping it down.
Update: I am afraid that I have to admit to being a big girls blouse. I'm not going to take the SV down to Fleet. I was up till midnight prepping stuff (lube chain, check tyre pressures) and up again at 6am to make sure I had plenty of time to get packed and kitted up.
Had it been dry here this morning (as was forcast) then I'd have done it. Lying in bed I thought I would be riding this morning. But it's not dry, it's raining. Only lightly I'll admit but nevertheless raining. Forecast for the next couple of days is marginal too but if it turns out on the wet side I don't want to be out there in it.
Now I understand that there are many things you don't really find out about till you try them and that you need to push yourself sometimes to make progress, this trip is really about helping with the house move, not playing on the bike.
I was impressed at the welcome I got in this forum. I have reason to be coming back down to the area on more socially orientated trips. So I hope to meet some of you at a point in the future.

ok, weathers sunny & fine down here (famous last words).
Catch you up another time. :)
Worked like a dog yesterday. Set of at 7:20am, got there at 9:07, waited around for them to arrive with van till about 9:30 then worked till gone 23:00 before having a couple of beers and hitting the hay. So I'd have been bolloxed for trying ride on Sunday morning anyway. Shame the weather was good this morning.
Another time indeed.
Shame indeed. Went out with a mate on a TT600 had a blast around the Meon Valley. Missed all the floods, and lovely clear open roads was a great morning out. Best bit was the a339 which is a well known twisty. Hooligan on an SRAD comes hooing up behind us on the straights then it turned out he goes round corners like my granny. Was fun constantly pulling away from someone who was a good 100hp up on me, better suspension and brakes and yet had no idea how to actually use it apart from opening the throttle in a straight line. Doubtless he'll be trading it in for something quicker rather than actually working on his riding skills.
Oh and for any of you regulars, ever tried the slip road off the A31 into Alton if you come from the Winchester direction, a mega left turn. Kind of place Dan would spend all days reshaping his knee sliders.
Cheers,
Mark

Yep, one of my favourite slip-roads that.
