Went out bug splatting at lunch and got more than what i paid for.
Started to get a bit hot on the neck with the sun behind me and inside my helmet so i pulled the visor up but still had my sun visor down, forgot i had the main one up. Then a few minutes later bimbling along and a bee runs into my helmet hits my sun visor and drops down, i thought it dropped off because i forgot i had the main one up, the next thing i feel him on the balaclava and hear the buzz. Oh my life i have never been so scared in my life, i slammed the anchors on and undid my helmet so quick. I have had a bad experience with a bee when i was 9 and never been friendly since. Anyone else had a bad/worse experience with their visor up?

Ouch! I've had a wasp inside my textiles before now. Luckily it only decided to sting me once I'd already stopped (for petrol).
Worst experience I've had with wasps was when sailing, I came ashore to find 2 of my mates had accidentally trampled the nest. The air was thick with them and lots got under my cag and stung me all over. My left arm was numb and I lost fine control of it for about 20 minutes.
I've never had a problem with Bees.
I had a wasp in the lid once. Just opened the visor and it got sucked out.

That sent shivers down my spine :shaking:
I don't get on well with bee/wasp stings and to have one in my helmet.... I would just panic, crash and die!

I often have a bee in my bonnet ;)
Had one in my textiles too- didn't sting me but i could feel it crawling around my armpit! Pillion was less than impressed!
I had one hit my uncovered adams apple once at bout 60mph. Bad times.
I also jumped on a wasps nest in a big pile of cut grass when I was a kid, got stung all over my face and neck.
More recently I got stung in London, £2.00 for a can of Coke!!!
I had that once on a rideout. Bear was following and me thought i was having a 'nam flashback...all i was doing was getting the bee out!

Been there dont that :)
Heard a buzzing noise and was like...hello thats close. I peered down and it was on the cheek pad of my lid and despite a few head flicks wouldn't budge. Rather irrationally instead of stopping and disposing of it i bit it in half. Yes i am a weirdo but on the bright side i didnt get stung.
N.B. I in no way endorse this bee relocation solution, i am merely highlighting my own stupidity.

I roared off on my DAS lesson with visor open and had to stop practically immediately as a bee hit my eyeball. No kidding, white of my eye. Dunno where it went, but the impact alone made me stop and weep like a child for 2 minutes haha
Never had a bee in my helmet but I did spend an afternoon at work with a wasp crawling round between my t-shirt and my overalls...didn't get stung tho thankfully!

Not a wasp or bee but I was riding along in a 30mph limit a while back, and a fly got into the cutout for your ears. Bloody hell it made a racket buzzing in my ear that close!!
In terms of wasp/human interfaces the only time I can remember off the top of my head was about 7 years ago at a summer (desk) job. Felt something on top of my head (thought it was just my hair moving about), reached up to move the bit of hair that I thought was the problem, and BAM! Think I got revenge later cos I killed it on the window sill :D
