I passed my test today in what I can only describe as floods! I got 6 minors which considering the weather I was chuffed about.

The examiner asked if I wanted to continue as the rain seemed persistant, I said as I am here why not, I'm already wet...just as I started the test, crossed the road and whoosh!, the heavens opened. I ended up on the A40 at Greenford, inside lane like a lake, got into 2nd lane and got drenched completely by white van man undertaking! On my final approach back to the test centre on the Ruislip Road the who carriageway was flooded....because I got completely covered by a Silver Audi I didnt immediately see the lake in front of my.....revs high, trickled through splashing over my knees.

I have kept quiet on this site about my test as I was so nervous and reading some of the stories here just bought on the jitters. I certainly dont feel nervous about the rain now, certainly cautious - I now know in some way how stable a bike can be in the rain if your riding is smooth and progressive.

Final bit of rambling, thank god for the Fog City Hyper Optiks that I purchased 2 days ago, just in case - Came into its own today not one moment of misting.

Will be looking to call some dealers now for the best price on an SV so I can join the club properly!

If you have any sort of bike available to you, get yourself along to Soho Square and come meet the Soho Massive tonight :)

Now that I have my test behind me I will make more trips out - My CBR is kept in Ligh****er so need to get somewhere closer to home so that I can just jump on the bike and away - I want to get to more meets and rideouts.

Good on ya!

Hehe, I remember my test was towards the end of a very cold January and the examiner took me through a quarry area that not only had ice all over it but the lovely rainbow colour of diesel spills everywhere for about 3 or 4 miles on top of the ice!

Luckily when we got back into town we got stuck in traffic. Even though I'd been on some assessed IAM rides with my Dad when learning and had had loads of practice filtering, the examiner wasn't to know that. He went past and said 'Follow me', got the last 10-15 minutes of the test with him in front leading me back. And then when he let me in front again, he got stopped at a Zebra, told me to carry on back to the centre on my own. Bonus!! :p

But well done there, welcome to the two-wheeled fraternity (or sorority, don't want to offend), and enjoy:thumbsup:

Nostrils you ought to get the barstools reg number he would get a hefty fine for deliberately drenching you!
Tough to remember on your test though....congrats for passing dude! :)
