Got a phone call this week from the guys that are helping me with my claim against the NHS van that hit my bike to tell me that with the damage that has been done and the millage on the clock my SV650s is a right off:smt022

Still waiting to hear wither or not the other insurance is going to pay out or not but the SV was valued at £1820 so if they pay out it wont be too bad. Still cant believe my poor wean is a right off:smt022

Sorry to hear of your loss.:(

Make sure you are happy with what the ins.company offer you. I would be very surprised if this would be their initial offer.(1st offer usually takes the ****). Hold out for more cash!!!;)

Not too sure what am going to get depends on how long the money takes to come through and whats about at the time, wouldnt mind another SSV the only that I didnt like about was the engine miss fireing in the wet (and aye I had a fender extender). Still got the bike they gave me a loan of, honda hornet, rattley as anything as soon as you get above 4000rpm but have been told by alot of people that are normally smooth and good runners. As it is a hire bike it has just been abused all the time.

Hope you aint got a hangover today jim!:p

I did have a bandit but they took that off me as it was from a sub contractor and cost more money than one of there own bikes!

Help hire has now given me 24hours notice they are taking the hire bike away from me as they dont think they are going to be able to get there money back from the the NHS insurance!:smt076 So between trying to our wedding organised and this insurance claim am ready for screaming!!! Getting married this Friday, going away on honeymoon on the bikes (well suppose to be) to Fortwilliam and 3days before the wedding they are taking the bike off me:rant: having a fight with them just now and waiting to hear back if they are def gonna take it away from me!!!!

The return of the bike seems to be coinciding with them deciding the bike is a write off.

Who is helping you with the claim,

When will you be back with the bike,

Tell them you will return the bike when you return from your trip.

I agree with Tony, tell 'em your already away on holiday on the bike so you won't be home for them to collect the bike until you get back....but if you can't get away with it.....

Look at Cupar or Perth motorcycles websites www.cupar.co.uk (http://www.cupar.co.uk), www.perthmcs.co.uk (http://www.perthmcs.co.uk), both do bike rental (I THINK you've had to have had your license more than a year and be over a certain age).

If not I believe these guys http://www.rentamotorcycle.co.uk do it as well and are not fussy so long as you are over 25. They use Moto Guzzi Breva's as well so could be an interesting ride! A love em or hate em bike!

It's not cheap but if it's for your honeymoon....?

 Lots of bad sweary words!!! They have taken the hire bike away!!! Well its stil sitting with me but I am no longer insured to drive it!!! Had enough of them gonna take it to the MCN, wouldnt normally bother but cause its our honeymoon they have realy peed me off.

So we gonna have a wee game tomorrow and see how much luggage you can fit on a kwak zx7r!!!

Also getting a hire bike aint an option only had my license since september and am only 24 :(

Me and the Mrs have Oxford throwover panniers that took us on holiday with room to spare, give us a shout and they're yours for the honeymoon.

Of course, you may have other things on your mind at the moment...
