Got my Sky+ hoocked into a Slingbox, then into one of my 20" Dell LCD monitors via S-Video.

At the press of a button that screen displays Sky, or my Mail Server, or my Fileserver or my Gamecube.

With the Slingbox, I can view and control my Sky+ from any coputer, anywhere in the house or even the world thanks to the Internets

Not satellite but I have a USB2 freeview dongle and thats works very well.

The viewer is Blaze Video HDTV player and it has satellite options in the settings, but I have not used them.

I should have said at the start I am technically inept. Please keep answers simple.

Just say "you need this!" and I'll get it.

I was looking at downloading software or something similar.

As far as I am aware there is no legal way of getting Sattelite TV in this country without a dish - and definately no way of getting Sky.

Anything you pay for could vanish the next day without you having any recourse.

If it was so difficult for me to set up a big aerial in my loft for freeview, what can I expect from the freeview aerial that I will get with one of those?

Warning: long rambling post from a know nothing...

If it was so difficult for me to set up a big aerial in my loft for freeview...

Couldn't you just use a feed from that?

I've had USB TV on the PC ...the software with it was truly horrible (it may be better now). Currently run one of the WinTV Happauge card things WITHOUT installing wintv which in whatever version I have it is also vile.
Can't remember the name of the software I use now it's something like dvB Viewer... I can check it tonight...downloadable and fairly cheap...

_That's just freeview for me... know even less about sky....

Just plug a feed from that arial into the USB freeview and sorted

I have a splitter in the loft and run a arial to my PC and one to the TV, I get all TV and most radio on my PC with that little USB thing

My TV is also my monitor for my Media PC. 32" Sony Bravia. Haven't got an aerial in my house, just cable. Just wanted some more options. Thought there might be a cheap way (free) of getting satellite feed through my PC.
