Hmm i normally use guildford tyres over in chilworth, ride in ride out service, loads of tyres in stock, free coffee, not the cheapest in the world but i've always had good service from them

Don't know if you often go out in shorts and vest etc but take a look here...

were you wearing gloves or is that a silly question?

eviltwin and i got knocked off our sv a few months ago, not going fast, old bloke pulled out of a side road into us. fecking hurt. here are some of the pics (http://picasaweb.google.com/sarahanneharrison/CRASH). i was wearing proper gear including gloves so at least i could wipe my own ar$e afterwards.

Welcome to the massive and glad you got your tyres sorted, scottoilers are not too bad to fit, if you go on their website you will find they have pictures of how to install it on various bikes and im sure a couple of guides on this forum if you search.

As for the shorts and vest, thats a pretty big no no as im sure you know which makes it worse really. I don't mean to preach but ive also had my fair share of accidents and had a big one where I got hit by a truck, I was about oo a couple of 100 metres from work and this driver did not look when he pulled out, I sustained broken ribs, damaged/destroyed ligaments, bruised/injured lung. If I did not have full gear I know for sure I would be alot worse off. As shown theres far more examples worse than my own.

People on here arent tutting or having a go for the sake of it, its just we know what happens if you dont wear the gear and wouldnt want to see anyone end up in a condition that could of been prevented or lessened by wearing the correct gear.

I had an off at less than 15mph wearing jeans and a textile jacket- the results were partially dislocated shoulder and badly skinned knees.

yeah I know its not a wise thing to do, it was just hot and i didnt fancy wearing my gear after my run. but i know being uncomfortable for a few minutes on the bike is better than being concomfortable for a few months in hospital or the like.

Yeah, it was a bit hot yesterday, I was really uncomfortable, sweating in my saggy arsed leathers.

Welcome! :smt039

As for shorts and vest, it's your skin at the end of the day.

A poorly attired rider at full concentration is less likely to get involved in an incident than a correctly attired rider who is not concentrating because they are too hot/cold/wet/uncomfortable.

Each to their own but personally I just have decent kit for hot/cold/wet and try to be as well protected as possible. However today I did go to work in jeans, office shoes and a leather jacket so am in no position to slap wrists.

Did anyone else see the guy riding an old blade in the Scoobydoo outfit? Even had the head on over his helmet. Went up fleet highstreet Saturday evening.

Don't do the shorts and vest again, it'll only bite you back in the 4rse. At least wear a jacket and jeans fgs lol, not even i go to those limits, tracky bottoms and waterproof jacket is the worst, i suppose its just about the same. Luckily my first two offs i had gear on, my last one was in tracky bottoms and a jacket but i landed on grass, still, i have taught myself a lesson, like it says in the thread posted earlier always wear yer ferkin leathers - or kit.

Might be a bit late but welcome :D

Cool, glad it went well, when I fitted mine I opted for the dual injector jobbie which made it harder to hide the thing and offered no real improvement. Glad its all sorted, hopefully see it on Thursday
