Well, t'was cloudy this morning but not raining so went for a ride. While putting my Dainese leathers on, one of the calf zips ripped (that's £25 down the drain to get it fixed!), duct taped them up and went on my way.
Me and my mate then managed to scream past some traffic cops at the legal limit (if ya know what I mean ;-) ), so that's us marked for a pull sometime in the future!
Got home at 4 and the weather was still holding off so decided to fit my fabbri screen, walked through the lounge to get my screen and managed to trip on my laptop power supply which is now f**ked!!
After removing some of the bolts it started to rain but I wasn't gonna let that put me off (wish I had though).
Got the old screen off a piece of p**s except for the fact that one the bolts had been done up to tight so as I removed it, it removed some of the paint.
Was a BIT*H to put back together though so after stripping the clock surround, then realising you couldn't fit it back together with the screen in place, I stopped for a coffee and searched on here to find out how to put the grommets back in.
With that all sorted, I started to put it back together again. All but one of the grommets went back in easily after being warmed but the screen has been resprayed/repaired at some point so one of the grommets wouldn't fit through the hole.
I started to file out the hole and slipped, scratching the nose fairing. Now I have filed the hole I have managed to get all the grommets in but I've only managed to get 2 of the bolts in to hold the screen! (Need to get some longer ones tomorrow!)
So all in all, I've had a bit*h of a day! With the paint chip and the scratch I may well just get the bloody thing spryed up in mat black!
Incidentally, my screen fits a dream and I also found out that my Oxford stormex bike cover makes an ideam shelter to use whilst working on the bike in the rain!!!
Sorry for the rant, but I just needed to vent! :smt013
