I have to share this with you all, I'm so excited!
I live in Evesham, and I'm sure most of you saw us on the news last weekend. Well my boat is kept on the river opposite the caravan park that was totally trashed last weekend (see avatar). We tried to get down there, but we couldn't even get near, it was awful seeing so many houses and businesses flooded.
We had resigned ourselves to the fact that our boat had gone.
Finally managed to get there today, and WOW, there she was sat bold as brass as though nothing had happened. She had moved and been retied up, so must have come back down on the river bank in a different place, but she's there in one piece.
We're down there tomorrow to help others, there are four other dinghy's that still need rescuing, but in all it looks like the sailing club has only lost one boat. The clubhouse is a mess though and all furniture has been lost, so it's gloves and wellies on to clear up.
As long as it doesn't flood tonight, which is predicted.
Sorry to go on chaps, but I'm so amazed that she survived!!
But my heart goes out to all those flooded, we were lucky, only the bike shed was swimming, so that needs drying out, but no damage was done at home.
