Tbh i usually have eyes like a hawk on suspect cars that are unmarked cop cars it always the usual suspects, bmw's, astras, etc... usually with smoked windscreens and either light colour for the top of the range motors eg. bmw's or either colour for the lower models silver, black or dark blue, eg. astras - if i'm out on my own i usually slow down - if its the oinkers they will slow down too or otherwise they will overtake after getting hacked off in their souped up cage and feeling proud they passed a motorbike!. if this does not work then i stop for a wee 'rest' lol.

Was up there last couple of weeks ago and the cops are saying they don't want to see a bike out on the road. Slow tourists in cars, and campervans, yes, but no bikers... If they see a bike there's a good chance of getting a pull for no reason

arrogant ********s,
if i see a bmw or merc come up behind me quick, i back it off till i can see in the mirror who is driving it.
came back from tyndrum the other day and infront of me was an unmarked cop car (could see his bits on the shoulder) and then looked in my mirror to see another unmarked copper. So i obeyed the law more than usual.

They are saying this? A cop said this to you?
Please confirm before I get the green ink out for Sir Willie...

Yep, some traffic copper in Inveraray said him and his pals in the Argyll area are going to be doing a blitz on the bikers (visors, speed, exhausts, and plates), with no mercy being given, just fixed penalty notices and plenty of pulls for "bike safety inspections".. jobsworth ******s the lot of them...
Boy racers in cars, and all other traffic are being waved on. Just bikes being pulled in and checked over. That's why I hate going into Argylll during the summertime. They hate bikers up there due to the chaos we cause. The traffic officer parked his BM up on grass verve in Inveraray, and walked up and down the line of bikes before telling us. The tourists get upset by bikes "speeding" past with "loud" exhausts, so complain to the cops...

Thanks for that mate. I am of an age and level of Meldrewness that this sort of thing really does prompt me to write to the Chief Constable. I'll let you all know how I get on with that.
But they're not all bad. I recently met a couple of old gits on GS650s - linky (http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php?p=1231024&postcount=162) - who were really good guys so I'm blaming the brass rather than the troops from now on.
