see where you're coming from. although I'm not a great fan of the trunkated seat thing and the can's are just plain big.
Still nice engine.

The cans would be the first thing to go :-)
Great looking bike. When I trade up from the SV the speed triple will be top of the shopping list. Looks good in matt black too.

That's exactly what I was like with my SV, funnily enough. They'd cunningly situated it directly under a set of lights in a darkened underground garage, looked like a photoshoot, I'd basically bought it before I even said hello...

The cans are a bit OTT i think you can get some sort of stubby arrow exhaust on it that looks and sounds niiiiiiiiiice

I still think the sv pointy is a great looking bike especialy from the rear pity you dont get to see the rear of your bike while your riding everyone else behind you gets the pleasure. :-)

I think I'll be hassling the local Triumph dealer very soon too, now they've launced the Street Triple =P~

I'm also hankering for a go on one of these - is it wrong to have these urges?

eviltwin test rode a speedtriple and a scrambler at the nec bike show last year. unfortunately he test rode the speed triple first so apparently the scrambler felt very sedate in comparison.

I'm liking the street triple, but only with the low arrow cans. It's a bit funny looking but it seems like a great package, so I'm not going to test ride one :)

I think that's why I fancy the scrambler though TBH, for the days when you just fancy a leisurely bimble on a sunny day. Oh if could afford two bikes...

Aha, you'll be referring to Orrell Motorcycle Centre i take it? I've been there many a day picking up the odd bit or bob and having a drool at the shiny new metal!
Trouble is they also deal in Kwaks and Aprilia's - I'm wondering if a day of back-to-back testing on the Z750, Shiver 750 and Street Triple is possible?
Decisions, decisions...

Very nice bike Moto!
I love the look of the matt paint but wonder if it shows the marks and scratches more so than gloss?? Could look very tatty in a years time!
Anybody know if matt painted bikes wear well?

I was speaking to a guy with a kwak zx6r in the matt bronzey/silver color a while ago who said it was a b1tch to keep looking clean. Purely anecdotal evidence on my part though...

Nice from the seat forward but too "streetfighter" for my liking. Although I wouldn't kick it out of the garage :p

Its Sight
It's.
The long termer Speed Triple in FAst Bikes mag has a really nice M4 end can. Only one and it's low mounted like an R6. They reckon 10 extra ponies across the range.

Will that be New Forest ponies? :)
Hmm - I think I still prefer the white one. Seems to be a copycat route for the matt Tuono and KTM R. Maybe they need to add some bling bits to R it as well - that would be cool.
Very nice bike Moto!

When I was working on Triumphs the matt black bikes were just coming through. The factory tell dealers to be very careful with the finish on the Speed Triple and not to put handprints on it or get it to a point where it needs cleaning.
That's how easy they are to keep looking good....i.e. not. I wouldn't buy one that colour, even though they look absolutely stunning. Trying to keep my gloss black Daytona 955i looking good is difficult enough.

There's some bits of semi-matt black on my GSX-R, and that's pain enough...if that is proper full matt black (like blackboard) paint, then it'll surely never stay clean/unmarked! Thing with non-gloss paint is, you can't polish marks off - once they're there, they're there forever...
I don't want to go to the Triumph dealers cos I fear it will be expensive, and not because my D650 needs a service.
Tiger, Tiger burning bright...
I had a bad experience at that dealers in Wigan which I wont bore you all with the details of, suffice to say I may yet be heading there on thursday if anyone fancies joining me ?
