That has a cowl/hump on. You just switch that for the pillion seat if you want to go two up.
2-up on a sports bike is never fun though IMO.

Not that the pillion hump is much. Think the size of a ciggie pack, then halve it.

Yes you can ride 2 up on this bike (just change the seat hump for the seat) but in my experience it is a horrible experience for both rider and pillion. The seat is very narrow but the tail is wide and is very uncomfortable and feels like your legs are going numb after a while. You have nothing to hold on to and i hate holding onto the rider (as well as i hate my pillions holding on to me when i am riding) you slide forward when braking and my legs ached from trying to put my force through the pillion pegs when braking and my stomach muscles ached from bracing when accelerating and braking!! and James is a good rider and tried his best to help stop this.
If it is your pillions first time on a bike.... good luck to her but as i said it wont be very enjoyable!!

Sounds much worse than it looks samnooshka :o
On the other hand, the K1 gsxr 600 (and i gues the other K1's) are pretty comfy for a pillion. Still no grab rail, but then i always hang on around my dad when i ride pillion anyway (not that I do now).

i'd agree - even though i've ridden pillion quite a bit, including on several sports bikes, and am quite happy not having anything to hold onto, etc, i have to say that this is not an enjoyable experience at all.
It's probably not peculiar to the gixxer, but rather that on most new sports bikes the pegs are too high, the seat is too small and there's nothing to hang onto.
The odd short stint may be OK if you take it easy, but for long journeys the pillion's really got to be into bikes!!
Does the pillion seat come with the bike, or is it an extra??
