View Full Version : Impressed !!!! (miles to the tank)
I had (What I consider) a long run on my bike on saturday. I filled the tank up completely and did 142miles with no petrol light. Now I normally see the light after 100miles so was worried.
Now when I got home I filled up and put in £11.20 which was around about 10.5 litres.....hell after doing my sums I figure that out to be over 60mpg.
Extremely Impressed and thought I would share my joy.

Well I managed 99.7 miles to 10.02 ltrs, which isn't at all bad on the T'bird which normally only gets about that (103) to 14 ltrs, although didn't do half the gear changes everyone else did (long gearing nice :) ).
Certainly is cheap thrills. In all fairness I probably didnt go over the speed limit, but it was mainly roads with no white lines in the middle aswell.
I guess if you cruised up and down the motorway on an sv doing 70 - 80 you could probably get 200miles to the tank at a stretch for £15 or less
On another note I also found the time and balls (as I'm not mechanical at all) to adjust my suspension.
This basically consisted of adjusting the rear and front to their maximum settings. The difference is extremely nice on smooth roads and a slight pain on small bumpy road, time will tell  .

I also did my suspension yesterday, set both front and back one click from full - found the front to be too hard with no lines showing. Have only done 10 miles on these settings, so will have to go for a bit of a detour on the way home tonight.
But you're right, it does feel quite a lot better.
Most I've got so far from a full to the brim tank is 120 miles before the light came on.

To be fair on your SV it's carrying more weight than most... :bball:

147 miles after service the other week (as in my Self Service thread). That was mostly A road riding and not so many traffic lights/gear changes. Filled at 155 miles.
135 after a commuting week.
Gonna see this week- I hope it's not going to go down to the 115-125 as of before the service...!
