why take them off?

Suzuki parts dealer for the bolts, or buy new more effective crash bungs that mount in the same position.

Add a location to your profile. Someone might be able to advise you with some local knowledge of where the local dealer is located.

You won't get a lot of support on here for taking them off. Everyone round here (generally) thinks they're the dogs ...
At least they are not full on engine bars like you get on a courier's Bandit

That said, stick them up in the for sale section as free crash bungs for the price of an engine bolt in part ex & someone will bite your hand off.

Just don't go posting on here that you've now dropped you bike & done rather more damage than necessary.

Ah you say that. I had a set of R&Gs waiting when I crashed last year, wrote off the SV and broke 2 ribs.

Now I have bungs fitted.

They stick out far enough, we put these on my mate's SV. He won't oblige us with a crash for a full test but time shall tell...

We don't have crash bungs fitted, and won't fit them, but take a look at this thread for reasons why they can be a good idea!

Weirdo!

Leave them on for now - after you have an off, replace them with a different coloured set.

Think it looks better then a scratched frame. It is one of the first mods planned for my sv. I am a noob but think anything that will/might help if/when it goes down is good money spent.

I got a set of second hand set R & G's off ebay for a really good price, they were in totally unmarked uncondition. So, why not keep yours on and just wait a while till you can pick up a bargain from ebay or somewhere.

Naked SV bungs do look big, but they have got to clear the huge radiator, which would cost a bomb to replace.

£318 I was quoted for a rad. In the end I fitted a used SV1000 one that cost me 29 quid, and it's slimmer but deeper, like the curvy rads are to pointy's.

I seriously thing the pointy rads are way too wide and could be made a fair bit slimmer, they stick out way too far at the sides.

Yes the pointy rads are a tad excessively sized, and look out of keeping with the rest of the bike imo.

They're pretty rubbish bungs to be honest... I'd take them off too, though I'd fit proper ones to replace them. And yep, Suzuki for the replacement bolts, that's what I did- I had even worse bungs on mine when I got it, they didn't even touch the ground with the bike on its side.
