Everything seems difficult to start with. And knowing when to stop before you do irrepairable damage is a good thing.

The bar ends screws are thread-locked in. I used a socket set on mine. Most have crosshead bits and adaptors in the kit. That way you can push hard against the screw head and use the leverage of the rachet to undo them.

another top tip from me

put a rag around the barend, then grip it with mole grips & twist it about a bit, this should then free it a bit

Hehe, yep knowing when to stop before you break something is always useful. Tried fixing the laser on my knacked PS2 yesterday, think I ended up breaking it entirely, damn fiddly thing

did it work? as you have new bar ends you dont realy need the rag, as it just stops you scratching the old ones.

:p

It's not, only you haven't fiddled enough yet.

You'll soon be twirling spanners with aplomb and will find more than enough time before brekky for a quick top-end rebuild.

Lol, you'll get the hang of it if you just keep trying things :) i was hopeless when i first got the bike but now confident enough to do all the basics (changing bulbs and doing oil changes) and even some trickier (to me) stuff checking throttle bodies :) (with the supervision of Jambo and pinching his tools lol). Just keep tinkering and of course ask when you get stuck... a Haynes Manual is also a good purchase :) and of course using the search function on here :)

Good luck and happy fiddling ;)
