...... but they will sell you circlip pliers.

At least thats the line from the Brixton store.

Was on my way home tonight when I went to change down gear as I came to a stop when I found that my gear lever wasn't where it should be.

Fortunatley for me it wasn't a new experience - well it happened to me about a year ago, and also this time it is just that the circlip has gone AWOL rather than the bolt working itself out of the frame.

So rideable with care.

Guess I am going to work via Metropolis tomorrow then, unless anyone here knows if Hein Gericke sell packs of circlips (think I need a 12mm tho it could be a 14mm).

I did, however get circlip pliers....

They also appear not to do a 14mm Hex bit in the pro range in the 2 stores I've tried so far, must email them...

Metropolis @ Vauxhall AND Infinity @ Clapham both didn't have the, and if Metropolis did have one it would have been 70p !!!!

Ended up at Stockwell Motors, and after them digging their jumbo box o' circlips out, I selected a couple to try for size, went out, offered them up, went back picked out another two the same size for spares and then asked for a price.

The price? Nothing.

Its no wonder that dealers get a reputation for being pricy.

But the Croydon one for certain and most of the others should do a set of sump bolt keys, they're a mix of square and Hex and cost bugger all. Useful set if you need to get a pointy SV wheel out ;)

...but if they did, they'd probably be the best circlips in the world.

Sorry, couldn't resist ;)

They don't do C-spanners either. Or lightly smoked scottish salmon.
