Why sell indicators that blatantly doesn't have the correctly rated bulbs in them???

Bought some aftermarket fairing indicators, now the indies flash too fast!!! Grrrrrrrrr ... yes yes, I know people have fixed it with new relays and appropriate resistors, but that isn't the point!!!

I am going to take the easy way out and get some correctly rated bulbs, but they are BA9 bulbs, so trying to find 21w is hard ... found some little 23w halogen ones that I think will fit, but it is all extra cost and hassle!!!

So back to where we came in .... Why sell stuff that blatantly doesn't have the correctly rated bulbs in them???

Oh and even more annoying it said in the spec that they were 23w bulbs ... they are not labeled on the actual bulb though to confirm or deny this ... Grrrrrrrrrrr :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

And relax Blue_!! :D

Aftermarket indies
Are all ****e.

Leave the standard ones on, they flash at the right rate and they can be seen, which marks them out as distinct from all the aftermarket ones.

Im on my second set of aftermarkets - i think theyre motrax or powerbronze possibly, however, both sets have let water in and now this second set does not fully light up. Some of the LEDs are no longer lighting. :(

as Mr S squid says stick with OE when it comes to indys, they double as crash protectors aswell :)

but they look so ugly!! if you get quality e marked ones like the cateye ones they should be ok ive never had a problem with a set of aftermarkets.

I gave up after 2 sets of LED indies. Don't seem to be able to make them waterproof. I've got Motrax bulb ones now. Compact, bright and flash the correct speed straight out of the box.

Ugly - Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder obviously, but what's important here - being seen or looking good? If you want to be cool don't have any indys at all - none of them are actually attractive are they?

I have a number of times replaced aftermarket ones when their owners get fed up with them not working and/or yet another near miss 'cos no-one can see them.

Although agreeing with Sid on the functionality issue, I'd say the biggest problem with aftermarket ones is they are seen as the cheap way to replace broken ones, and what you get is, well "cheap ones" with the durability to match, you get what you pay for, if you're just after something to stick on for an MOT or to sell a bike they'll do, but aren't going to last long or be that good, however £60 worth of quality aftermarket ones will have both the functionallity and durability of OEM stuff, you pays your money and makes your choice.

Cheers Mark.

Where can I get a pair of £60 aftermarket LEDs? I think I've paid about £30 for the last 2 sets so I'd spend the cash if it meant they werent going to suffer water ingress at the first splash of a puddle

I got a pair for about £60 off ebay for my DRZ, as you can emagine everything was thrown at them and they were fine. think they were Motrax (sp.)
