I dont know really? Maybe some folks who feel that the SV is more sport oriented, might view the bike as a capable workhouse and be rushing out to purchase such fine accesories instead of faffing with, end cans, bar ends etc.:p

Why... Dear Lord Whyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Because some of us use our bikes to combine a blast with visiting places where we can do more than just admiring the bikes we've just parked, and it's so much easier being able to pack the bike gear in the boxes instead of lugging it round a visitor attraction. This is especially good for the kids' stuff - 2 parents + 2 kids + 2 bikes + boxes = fun on the way there, fun once there & fun on the way back.

That's why we're looking to fit a givi rack to the wife's recently acquired SV. When bikes are in your blood, anything's got to be better than going out in the car?!

The trick is to remember that boxes can be removed for that circular rideout where you're only going the long way home once you've set off.

O.K. Fair one, but whenever i've goine out for a long weekend I can fit everything into a rucksack, tank bag and the pockets in my leathers. Just not my bag baby and it was only made in jest ;) :smt056

Yep. When I had my SV Id do my Xmas food shopping on the bike - thats a FULL big trolley of stuff too.

Worked too despite the woman on the till being sceptical. Simply had the top box, 2 panniers on the sides, tail pack on the rear seat, tank bag on the tank and a ruck sack. :smt003

The things are damn practical when you havent got a car ok? They kind of negate actually needing a car for me really. :smt003

Besides... theyre a damn site more secure for leaving valuables in when touring than a tailpack or other soft luggage. :D

Wheres alpinestarhero when you need some back up eh? :p :smt003

No offence intended - perhaps I came across a bit strong, sorry.

Personally I'm a bit wary of wearing a rucsac on a bike since I heard about someone getting v. serious lower back damage after coming off. I always used to strap a bag onto the back of the bike but, more recently, carrying the kids means I need the pillion seat for them.

But you're right - each to their own. As long as we're on the road there's enough room for us all

Bring on the top boxes!! I quite dislike carrying a bag on my back much better to store it away somewhere dry.

ooh, I like that red though!

Agreed, much as I hate to admit it, the K7 red is undoubtedly the bestest red there is; I may even concede it goes faster than the other reds, which, as we know, go faster than all the other colours out there :D

My brain tends to block out disturbing images, what's all the talk about another bike also being in the picture??

I got the urge to fit hard luggage to my SV, to go touring...then I saw sense and bought an old gpz with full luggage included for only a little more than a givi set for the SV. Any bike (well any bike that i can afford to insure) will handle like poo with missiz plus all the crap we take away with us on the back. Kept the SV lookin cool and have the gpz for when i feel the urge to pretend I own a Goldwing ;)

oooohhh, that looks really practical,

although everyone knows that the SV isnt powerful enough to manage a top box and paniers...........................................

after seeing that picture, he's either nipped down to the nearest givi retailer, or having a 'private moment' [-X:smt077
