I saw a PC with this on the other week and it's pretty cool...
However, whenever I try to install it I get an error, that tells me I have to uninstall "Hotfix KB925902". There is another option which includes moving DLL addresses but I don't want to c0ck it up....
Anyone else installed this ?
just downloaded it.
it says to visit Here for a Fix (http://www.crystalxp.net/news/en187-kb925902-bricopack.htm.html)
Edit, just download the other version (http://www.crystalxp.net/news/en181-vista-inspirat-ultimate-2-brico-pack.html), which fixes that problem, works and look nice...
cheers for the info Jelster;-)

Why would you want to 'transform' from a relatively stable Windows release to the the bag o'****e that is Vista? Ask yourself why no large enterprise has gone down the Vista road yet......
it's only a look a like, only 27Mb free download to make it look nice and sound nice. it's still XP that runs it.

That's in and running, seems faster too - don't know why.
And yes (or should that be no ?) I wouldn't go to Vista as it's not been out long enough to be "ready" for human consumption....

As posted elsewhere, I had a drive failure, and seeing that the driver issues that turned me off of Visat have been resolved I went over to the darkside.
Seems ok up to now, my SLi works as does my surround sound.
Tho I HAVE been using Vista since pre-release with work, and its my job to find wierdensses in it.
Dont know that I would trust the Transformation Packs - be sure to check for malware/virusess and the like after install - Personal Firewalls to block all unauthorised outgoing traffic till you are sure nothing is "phoning home"

Works on mine, but mine is a funny install of XP media to get it to work on the domain here...so I guess it should be fine with a straightforward install.
Only thing that annoyed me was losing my desktop wallpaper (back) and fiddling about setting the Dock but thats good now its done.

Been using vista on a new pc I bought a couple of months ago, I actually like it. TBH mostley do internet and ms office stuff so far but it seems quick and easy to maintain. Good search functions and the bits "seem" better intergrated than xp.
The only thing that I have noticed from other people experieces is that you need a decent chunk of ram, 2gb sound right. People have told me that there home pc at even 1gb is aweful, but works fine when upgraded to around 2gb.

2Gb IS the bare minimum for Vista.
Have a lot of experience with it - work in a software test lab and we have been testing it fairly rigorously.
Only just decided to give it a go at home, has its issues, but seems to be settled now that a lot of the initial launch driver issues have been fixed

That cheeky, dell were cetainly selling pc with less than that came with vista installed. I think they were recomending 1gb at the time
TBF the microsoft website says you can use between 512-1024 as a minimum depending on version

Yeah, well they said a lot of things about Vista......
It WILL work with 1Gb, and even with less, but works best with more than 1Gb
Also, turn off the Sidebar for a better experience - dont just hide it, right click on the icon next to the clock and click on exit - and check/uncheck the box to stop it starting up next time you reboot
