If you're coding it by hand it looks like

body {
background-color: #E9E9E9;
}

Should be

body {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
}

Hmm, any reason why you're using embedded styles as well as an external style sheet? The last embedded style:

body {
background-color: #E9E9E9;
}

will override the external style sheet value (which you've probably got set to background-color: #FFFFFF)

just tried that, what it did was to change the boarder on the left and right of the page to white colour only, it did not get rid of them:confused:

Worked for me. (Line 28-30)
You amy have a caching issue. When the page loads up (in the browser) press Ctrl F5 to clear the cache.

The entire page will turn white.

If that doeasn't work, are you sure you're editting the right file?

Oops: Didn't see that you have a styles.css file.

Rem that line out - does the body now change to white?

Have you got an online link?

without seeing how your styling is laying the pages out it is going to be hard to answer that question!

Your body is being centered on the page. I think you're asking for this to be removed so that the page left aligns. IF so, and I *strongly* adivse that you back up your page first btw:

There's a div tag that's centering everthing jsut before you content div tag:

<div align="center">

Line 36-ish

If you could remvoe the closing <\div> tag at the bottom of the page also (near the </body> tag).

Also you appear to have a couple of closing div tags (<\div>) without any strt div tags.......This will also play havoc with your page. You'll want to remove these.

all the div tags at the bottom of the page looked like that </div> not like <\div> and i have removed them. it did nowt for the sides tho.
its seems i only did one thing for the banner to appear i never added anything apart from some google ads and then took them off again.

have a look at the site without the divs lol,
