Well now that we have it, what do we do with it? :smt017  :-k :smt102

I think the first thing is to ensure that we have a physical home too. We need to get the social meet place sorted so that anyone new to the forum in the local area will know where we meet and when.

Next ?

Knightrider is in the process of making a google-map with all our locations. The idea is to work out roughly where a central location is. Currently i believe it is around Henley-ish.

We all seemed happy with the Flowing Spring....it has loads of parking and lots of outside seating. It also has a great covered veranda with tables/chairs. The only downside was that i think it doesn't serve food on Mondays/Tuesdays.

That said i think we can still afford to shop around and sample a few others. I expect the Oxford crew have a few suggestions of places up their end. That will give us southerners a chance to ride a bit further and them the chance to ride less.

I'm easy me...i'll go anywhere within reason :smt045

I got a suggestion for the next meet (21st)...

How about the Fleur De Lis in Stokenchurch? Just off the M40 but also accesible by some nice backroads..

I have no idea where it is but we might as well give it a go. Do you have a postcode for it? or just for stokenchurch? We couild have a couple of regula venues - that will hopefully lead to pleanty of amusements as people turn up at the wrong pub - just to carry on tradition.

What do you want?

Crack and hookers.

Nothing to do with the site, or the new regional group, but it's what I want.

So there.

Well, come on, I'm waiting!

Quite like the idea of a magically moving meet point.... Variety is the mother of all cockups or something along those lines.....

I agree... that way a pub which is miles away from some members for one meet, can be changed to one which is closer to them for the next meet.

I'll get on the case to find a few good 'uns with parking up Oxford way then, so we can have the occasional meet up here. Parking is a pain in the centre so I'll have a scout around for some village pubs. I have a feeling Fox's is open late one night a week - could be Tuesday, I will investigate.

Cool, since you have asked a GM member to organise your coup, Thames Valley will actually become a protectorate of GM. :D

What do you want :?:

An alternating couple of meeting places at either end of the region.

Rideouts to be stickied when they get planned.

Thames Valley members to gatecrash the Guildford meet at the Ely, Blackwater every two weeks.

I thought what would be a good idea is for each planned ride or meet to make it a sticky until the date has passed. Then it will return to a normal thread. Views :?:

Sounds good, works well in the GM section.

Could info on social meet days be stickied and/or put in the calendar

I've thought about this, but as we have nothing set as routine yet I don't see the point. Once the social meets are working regular I'll do something about that. We already have the proposed locations on the google map.

Yep, I agree, the meets have to be regular, before being set up as a recurring event in the calendar.

Since the 1st meet is set for Tuesday, a one off event in the calendar could draw some more interest as events are publicised at the bottom of the forum index. Or maybe everyone apart from me ignores that part??

Oh and can Falc be moved from GM mod to TV mod as he doesn't live in GM territory now. ;)

And I volunteer my services for the GM mod vacancy. Just so I can type "I am the Law, prepare to be moderated. Code 316: Willfull derailing of a thread"

Ok, I don't have any serious suggestions at the moment. Need to wait until the TV is out of it's infancy and then there'll be stuff that stands out.
