Just bought an HP 'all in one' printer for 39 golden coins of the realm. Comes with free starter pack consisting of USB lead (doesn't come with printer - seperate item), 2 ink cartridges and some paper.:D

Easy to use - very nice for every day stuff at home etc.

Can be bought for 29.99 at Amazon but the USB lead will set you back 14.99.

Tesco were knocking out Canon i1300 printers, including the fine photo cart. for £19. Needless to say, I bought one, after all, it would have cost £30 for the new catridge I needed for the lower spec Lexmark I already had!
Truly a throw away society.

I print photo's with ink costing £2 a cartridge with no probs!

Don't get ripped off people!

Don't believe the "your printer may blow up your PC and the surrounding neighbourhood if your use the wrong ink" boolsheet! :)

I've found Epson to be the worst printers for ink. I've owned two now, the last being the top-of-the-range R800. Both were complete sh!t, and I'm never, ever buying Epson again. They drink ink at about 10 times the rate of any other make of printer, and a full set of Epson cartridges for the R800 is about £90. They go through constant cleaning cycles, which can drain an entire ink cartridge in days. Epsons are also very prone to blocked ink nozzles and attempting to clean these drains more of your expensive ink. In the end, I took the R800 to the tip (£250 down the drain) and bought a Canon IP4300 for about a quarter of the price. The Canon sips ink and is a far nicer printer in almost every way.

I've also owned a couple of HP printers which weren't bad, but the cartridges can get clogged up quite easily. There's also a new Kodak range which claim to use very cheap ink. I'll probably stick to Canon in future as the IP4300 is so good. Nothing will persuade me to buy another Epson though.

Although im in the print game, i know very little about home printers (I have 3 Xerox 6060 colour pinters for my job) I was looking at Epson, due to the fact they use seperate inks for all the colours.

About 10 years ago, my dad stole us a very nice HP printer from his office, so I use that :D Nothing like setting a positive example for your kids.

I have an old Canon S600 that uses separate carts for separate colours never had a problem.
