As some of you may know i am buying Billys bike. I need to get a restrictor fitted to be all legal for it. Now i rang up FI International and they told me i cannot transfer from one bike to the other, is this true?

not strictly true, you can transfer it with relative ease, however getting the bit of paper to say that, can be a pain, in theory you only need someone to check it's fitted and sign something to that effect, do you know a bike mechanic or similar who could do it for you ?
Dealers are only interested normally if they supply the kit and can charge you mega bucks
Cheers Mark.

Just out of interest who are FI International ?
let me put it this way, I've a friend who is not only a qualified bike mechanic, but also a bike inspector and accident accessor as well, he's got headed company paper with his qualifications (and numbers) on it, hes done 4 bikes for me now, I just show him the restrictor (ECU is labeled/ or washers ) is fitted and he'll sign the form.
two of them have been submitted as proof to insurance companies and one has been used at a police station as part of a producer.
now if it's good enough for your insurance, the police and a vehicle inspector, I can't see the problem, after all the law doesn't say only your dealer can fit it, just it must be fitted and restrict power to said amount.
Cheers Mark.

33bhp proof is needed for a producer?

Dyno printout is more than fine. You just need proof the bike is 33bhp and the chance of you getting caught by a clued up copper is 0.00001%

Hmmm suppose I'd best get some paperwork, the bike is restricted so the worst they can do is check it.
