Hello Everyone
As of saturday, all being well, I will be getting my grubby paws on a 54 plate SV650s in blue complete with lower fairing - I can't wait!
In the meantime I have a couple of questions -
1) The tail has been tidied and I fancy changing the standard front indicators for some smaller ones. Anybody got any reccomendations/pics of their bikes with aftermaket indicators?
2) Anyone fitted any of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CRASH-FAIRING-BOBBINS-SV650S-SV1000-IN-BLACK_W0QQitemZ270152848117QQihZ017QQcategoryZ2563 2QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Are they any good?
3) Do these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRE-for-SV650-SV650S-SV-650-SV650-S-EFI-MODELS_W0QQitemZ300140121479QQihZ020QQcategoryZ256 23QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Actually work and are they worth the money?
4) I fancy fitting a tinted screen - any reccomendations, preferably a double bubble.
Cheers
Dave

Hello and welcome, modifications are a personal thing so what you do is up to you, but if it was me I'd make sure the Forks are sorted (at least oil and springs) before anything. nex woul be crash bungs, the pretty stuff can wait.
I notice you don't have your location in your profile? perhaps update that and get along to meet some of the locals and look at what they have fitted.
Cheers Mark.

I have some of the Motrax Allycators (http://www.motorcycleworldl-spa.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=212) on mine, they look pretty good.

I'm not sure i'd trust unbranded ones like that from ebay - no way of knowing what they're made of & how well they'll stand up to a drop. Personally I'd go for peace of mind & get some R&G's or Motosliders.

Do a search on the TRE mod, it's been covered loads of times on this site - IIRC the general consensus is it doesn't make much difference.
4) I fancy fitting a tinted screen - any reccomendations, preferably a double bubble.
I'll be fitting one of these (http://www.bikeit.co.uk/screens_product.asp?ID=135) soon, have seen one fitted to DoubleD's SV and they look great.
Cheers

Hello
Thanks for the warm welcome - will update my profile - I'm in Cardiff.
I wasn't sure about the £12 carsh bungs either - seems too cheap.
Another quick question, I'm picking the bike up from the south coast - how many miles can I expect to get from a tank of fuel?

I usually get to about 130 (normal riding, commuting etc) before the fuel light starts flashing, probably less if you're wringing it's neck  I usually fill up at that point so not sure how much further it'll go before the light goes solid.
K4 only has single stage fuel warning light, which comes on solid when there is (iirc) a little over 4 litres left. I usually tell myself I've got 20 miles to find fuel once the light is on. (Better safe than sorry).
Get some decent crash bungs. If you need them, they'll probably do the job properly, and if not, it's something which is a nice addition to a description when you come to sell it.

I have a K4 and I get solid light with 4 litres left then 3 litres later I get flashing light.

hein gerick do aftermarket indicators for suzuki that supposedly fit in the faring recess look good imho. Ive got diamond ones on mine front and back had to space the fronts out abit though to clear the fairing recess.

I have a K4 & it's only got a single stage solid warning light (& it's been run dry a couple of times so definitely doesn't flash.
There's nothing wrong with those £12 crash bungs. BUT they attach to the fairing brackets so will not do anything much for you if you drop or crash it.
You need to get ones that bolt straight into the engine. Or R&G ones that have a plate the bolts straight into the engine in 2 places & the bung attaches to the plate. These are the only ones that line up with the hole in the fairing.
I have a K4 and I get solid light with 4 litres left then 3 litres later I get flashing light.
That is really strange :???: I've just gone & searched for a pic of your bike to confirm that it is a K4 & yes mine is a 2005 K4 as well as yours but def no flashing fuel light

perhaps the flasher unit is not working?
I don't think I have ever run it down to 1 litre, so I couldn't say if it does this or not. No mention in the Suzuki handbook though.
