Looking probable, as long as knee doesn't play up to much, moved my jobs to late afternoon, if it takes to long may have to shoot away though.

Cheers Mark.

Thanks again Sarah for a wonderful job of organising us lot, was a great rideout as usual. Shame about Rictus' bike trying to kill him though. Hope everyone got home alright. Looking forward to pics of us looking lost!

Had a good chin wag with Pete, put the world to rights and all that, got back safe and sound, had a quick look, damaged clutch transfer rod, front sprocket cover is history, couple of Oil seals, but the biggy is the main casing oil seal housing, sheared clean off, might be able to do something welding wise with that, I'll have a word with the welder round the corner and see? if not new casing and a complete engine strip/re-build so could take a day or two.

All my own fault really, found a stiff link yesterday along with a couple of rust ones, I've always lubed the chain since getting the bike every 200 mile, but this was damage already done waiting to bite me, still should have done it, just the same old " thought it would last until next week" thing :smt102

Fortunatley caught it as it went and not even a wiggle, so that's good.

New chain ordered, sprockets are mint, I think this is a case of bike standing to long and the "o" rings drying out, have to order new seals and a sproket cover tomorrow.

Not really the way to get home now is it :(

Glad you got back ok Mark! i wondered what had gone wrong and when you were all standing to the side of the road i thought someone had gone Turf Surfing!! then saw the oil on the floor.

Good recovery time from the recovery man!! wish they were all that quick!
Hope you get the bike fixed soon!

We peeled off towards the end and headed back home to let the beast out. Was a really good day, although my confidence needs serious work. I just felt a bit pressured at times to go faster but glad i stuck to my guns and rode at my own pace... slow as it was. James and I had a good ride home after leaving you guys. Followed James through some corners getting used to the bike then he followed me for a bit... was nice to hear him say that i am riding fine... its all in my head!!

See you at the next rideout... hopefully with some confidence and a scooped out seat!!!

We do take a bit of organising  It wouldn't be the GM if we didn't get lost!

Hmmmm this has prompted me to get my finger out and do my c&s sooner rather than later as the chain has a couple of tight spots and is stretching badly at the mo

Thanks again all organisers and TEC's, 2nd ride out with you chaps, getting to know all of surrey & sussex's residential areas lol.

I'm sure that nice lady would have made us all a brew whist someone found out which continent we were on.

Bloody hell Mark, you were lucky with that chain, nasty buggers when they snap. Hope the bike gets sorted relatively quickly and glad you werent hurt in that incident.

Sounds a good rideout guys and gals, getting lost though, thats hardcore guildford massive for you :D

Ooh you offering chain services? What's your winter storage service like?

Not really, sort of knew it was a possibility, caught it as it went, didn't come round with any force, just grease on the rear light and seat is all, didn't even over rev the bike as I shut down immediately, and that was on an overtake.

Seals ordered, transfer rod straightened, front sprocket cover ground down (might still be useable?) trophy sprocket ordered (secondhand £25 instead of the £79 for a new T'bird sport one), chain should be here today.

as long as I can get away without needing a new main engine casing it should be fixed this week sometime (parts dependent), if not then it's £162 + vat, complete gasket set, and a lot of time to completely strip and re-build into a new casing (one half of the main pair) guess the dinning room will be the workshop for now if I'm rebuilding it has better disabled access ;).

Shame they got lost and i wasn't there, know most of those roads anyway, but I was having a van trip instead.

Cheers Mark
