I love to scuba dive. I even run with the local dive search/recovery unit. We use scuba as well as ssds ( surface supplied diving system ) with a commercial/ US navy dive helmet.

Spent most of my life around scuba diving (Dad owned a shop many years ago and was a class 2 BSAC instructor.) Just never wanted to do it myself.

Yup - have been for a number of years. Always in warm water (some would call me fairweather, Id call myself bloody sensible) and have loved every minute of it.

I'm a holiday diver, but never done the open water exams n' stuff. Always a bit short of a few hundred quid after I've just paid for the holiday, so usually end up doing a single dive or two. Do loads of snorkelling on holiday though ('cos I take my own gear so it's free) and love going to places with coral reefs. The red sea is just fantastic, in fact thats one of the places where I think you see as much snorkelling as diving.

I did it once in Dominican Republic

Half hour in the pool followed by 20 mins in the sea at a Coral Reef

It was excellent but I havent done it since never got round to it

****ing hell! Buried in the scuba divers thread!

If there's no "Kilted's alive" thread by the time I get to work tomorrow I'm starting one!

Welcome back mate, we are lead to believe by someone nameless* that you are as thin as a Japanese racing snake...

*Colin. I wont mention his second name, that would be indiscreet.

Never thought about diving here ?

Thought about it, called a club in edinburgh who were quite snooty their certification rather than padi, so left it, never really chased it up much after that.
I'm a martini man, anything, anytime , anyplace, although unfortunately just now that means, sleeping, all the time, anywhere.
