As i requested this thread is to be made sticky so we can actively arrange and plan a full rideout where everyone is welcome.
There will be no DE-rails please guys this is just for planning, dates, ideas, and suggestions... of which ALL are welcome, please submit as much input as you wish, and WE will try an incorporate everyones ideas in if indeed possible.

As in the other thread i will throw down the first date, its the endish of september on the 22nd which is a saturday.
i think planning the route would be the easy one just getting a date that as many of us can make it is the tough one lol,

okay as for routes, does anyone have any personal favorites? or good pubs/stopping places that could be incorporated in to the ride?

Personally... can't do the 22nd due to being in sunny Crete!

But... Personal recommendation for a nice little stretch between on where you're going to or from is the A444 in-between the A5 and the M/A42.

As long as the weather is 'reasonable' then I'll be along, wherever you like, as long as we have plenty of riding time (ie a good riding/cafe ratio;))

I can do the 22nd.

If you want a long ride I recommend the A54 to congleaton, then back along the woodhead pass or snakepass......there are loads of routes back from congleaton.

if the 22nd is too far away then is there any other dates anyone fancys?

I'm away on holiday this weekend coming and next weekend, I'm then marshalling at snetterton on the 8th & 9th:(....so the 15th or 16th is possible.

Trying to arrange things in large groups is real pain in the ****.

On another note, with this being pinned, I think it gets less viewing. I know I often over look items that have been pinned.

if we go to skeggy the 60 miles will turn to at least 120 miles but i need some help with route ideas.. :D
as for the date i need people to say they can make it to specify the best date if more people can make it on a different day then it will change after discussion.

Saying that tho, i think the easiest thing to do is fully plan the route with stops and everything incorporated then poll a date..

would recomend that you stick to roads you Know for your route and google has a good feature in the maps part for planning routes

Best bet I reckon. You'll have a definative mileage then too.

As Smudge says, roads you know might be best unless they are all major A roads. Roads should be getting a bit quieter as autumn sets in.

i think this will be the Easiest way to get this to happen so thats what ill do, so as of now the BIG ride out is not happening on the 22nd
what i will do is plan step by step and post updates over the next couple of weeks then poll a date.

Litrally any ideas or suggestions would be great folks.. so please dont be shy
im looking from Matlock to Skegness ( A - B ) and the route between is where it all happens. :D

If you want a break from main roads, turn off at Wragby (or at Baumber) from the A158 for Bardney. Once you get to Bardney, head towards Horncastle, this puts you back on the A158.These roads are fairly twisty and mostly well surfaced. Been round there today actually.

If possible when it comes to times and stuff, could you try and make it so that we're not back too late... I rode back from North Lincolnshire to home late last night and CRICKEY it's starting to get cold!!!

I had a 5am start a couple of weekends back and it was FREEZING. I have another this Saturday aswell to get to croft for 7.30am. The biggest problem is coming back when your mega tired, its dark and your freezing.

Although granted I wasnt prepared for the cold and I will be this time.

There is not enough commitment or people in the midlands to make it happen unfortunately by the looks of it.

Case of tagging along on a pennine or borders ride out by the looks of it :(

ive been working on the route but as you say mate.. there isnt enough people.. its been really difficult just recently because ive been doing the 2008 Gixer junkies calender shoot and processing and also an article for a magazine.. which has taken all my time up.
i can still go ahead with this i just need people to come lol

I think we can... if we had an option of say 4 weekends, all of those interested say yes/no the weekends, and see which weekend most people can do.

Must admit, we've done more with The Border patrol, EAR and the London mob than with what is supposed to be our local group. People on here just don't seem to have the same leisure time and ability to get out that we do, or maybe not the same desire.
