So my mate, MacGuffin, finally got round to removing the baffle from his Curvey SV. He'd been riding round forever with the baffle in & was quite chuffed with the popping sound when slowing down & changing gear.
When MacGuffin's bike is baffle free the bike's always popping & when he changed gear to second from third he got a really loud bang. Loud enough to scare tourists on the Strand....except the 2 italian GP fans that started flicking their wrists want to hear mo' revs....bless.
Is the popping & odd bang sound bad for the bike/engine? Should I advise MacGuffin to put hte baffle back in? He did put loads of sealent on the exhaust pipes.....he say's that it's just been burning off as evidenced by smoke from the exhaust & a funny burning smell.
If you ask me MacGuffin is a naughty boy for removing his baffle...but the gxsr 1000 next to him at the lights was stil louder.....think MacGuffin's got some sort of envy thing going on. ;o)
