Am I the only one having problems with Bennetts, I keep getting
spurious reasons for delays in refunding £125.52 for a cancelled
policy and for a change of policy that did not take effect due to Benetts not
being able to move the end date for the old policy and the start date
for the new policy forward by 19 hours, due to not being able to pick
up the new bike and deliver my trade in as originally planned. they had
to cancel the old policy and start again with another one which then
bumped the price up by £60 which they could not explain.
All this was on top of the problems I had originally with trying to get
a cover note so the dealer could tax and register the new bike earlier
in the year.
Just come of the phone again so still boiling :mad::mad:.

The problem with insurance is that its all controlled by computer due to market trends. Operators have no control over this.

I have at points manage to fiddle the prices, by resubmitting details online for insurance. for example my car with all the same details would be for example 500 then the next day its 479.50 etc. Its kinda crazy out there

the trouble is there the middle men if you go directly to the company lets say westhill its much cheaper and they have more control they can still try it on though but if your not willing to exept there sh!t they sort it, they only do it cos some people carnt be bothered with hasseling them

99% of the problem is that its Bennetts were talking about, their good when they are taking your money but dont like giving it back.

I am not with Bennetts but have just called Devitt about a change made to my policy in time for my new bike arriving in a couple of weeks - The insurance policy only states SV650S! When making the call I stated that the bike would be supplied complete with full fairings and a seat cowl (same as K6 Sport but on a K7 model). The operator obvious know nothing about bikes and couldnt confirm if the fairing would be covered and will have to check with Equity Red Star, calling me back tomorrow! I requested that the insurance certificate should include accessories or something to confirm the fairings will be insured in the event I would need to claim - She didnt think they could do that in words, but I have insisted stating that if I mislead them on some information, surely the same would be said of them! She is checking.

Insurance is all about making money, not protecting the customers because we all know paying for insurance is the easiest thing to do but claiming or getting money out of them is the hardest thing to do.

If I were you Tomis, I would write a letter direct to them stating all the facts and then endorsing the letter with a 10 day clause that unless the monies are paid in this time your solicitor will be instructed to persue your owing debt.

Isnt it funny that insurance companies charge for a change to a policy etc. for administration...perhaps you could do the same, charge for your time in writing etc.

Good Luck

Hope you never have to claim...the 'legal cover' I paid an extra £30 for over the phone turns out ot be a 'claims assistance' package that suspiciously doesn't include said legal cover, despite the customer service people referring to the 'claims assistance' package as 'legal cover' even in my complaint conversations....(if that makes sense!)

](*,) I will never insure again with them, even if it's a free policy and will make it my business to make sure I spread the word!

I guess they're all as bad as each other

Had the same thing with Bennetts.. Cancelled my policy and they took 6 weeks to give me my refund. Think it's company policy to lie through their teeth..
