Hi all,

Looking for tire opinions.

Naked 2000 SV650. Mushy suspension - soon to be way upgraded with better shock and GSXR front end.

I have no tire warmers.

Track day / Novice racing - no street.

Northeast USA. hot summer and warm fall days - I guess some wet riding is inevitable. :o

Yes, I did a search first. Looking for latest and more specific info.

Thanx,
Denis

true, but a lot of people I know won't go out on the track on them in the rain...
On the other hand there are silly people like myself that go out on Michelin Macadams which hardly warm up even on a sunny day like yesterday. Hardly any wear on them though

I'm gonna go with the Pilot Powers for the next set. Looks like the most bang for the buck. Just put in an '05 ZX6R shock, it's looking good - a few mm shorter with correct spring (540lbs./inch) Much tighter than the stock or GSXR shocks that I have tried. A GSXR front-end is in the works. The bike is just about where I want it to be. :)

most people with track/race bikes are going to have a set of wet wheels/tyres. if you don't, & you want to go out in the wet, then you'll want a more intermediate tyre. can't have it both ways, unfortunately

true that. but since the OP had said rainy trackdays would be inevitable I just wanted to point out supercorsas were probably not the best choice.

Although you might make some other people really happy: the previous time at Croix the rain was really ****ing down and apparently many of the riders on dedicated track tyres did not have/bring rain tyres and left around noon. Which left us with 9 riders in the afternoon when the sun broke :smt041
