Took the new Street Triple for a half hour test ride on Friday after reading all the hype in the monthly bike mags. It's probably sacrilege saying it on this site but I'm pretty hooked on the idea of getting one.

The engine in incredible, I love the looks and for the money they don't seem bad value. I wouldn't fancy touring on one because the wind protection is minimal but as most of my riding is short distance it's hardly a major problem.

I'm deliberately never going to ride one. If possible, I'll avoid ever seeing one. I'm not a strong man, better to avoid temptation entirely ;)

I'm thinking the same, else I might try to sell a kidney to get the money or something.

Being a bit of an old cynic I thought that this could spell a glut of cheap Speed Fours on the market.
Hmmmmm:)

I've ridden it, it's a fine bike! Probably as close to perfect as you'd want an engine to be. Pulls from very very low rpm in top gear and just goes, all the time. The seat is a bit hard, even with the gel seat option. It's visually impressive and looks a damn solid chunk of bike, everything is doing a job and integrates together. The sound on the bike when you open the throttle is incredible, snorting and characterfull like a twin but keeps revving and revving. I'm umming and ahhing about buying it, it's not a practical bike really but then what is......

No, you're spot on their. I read the BIKE review and they were amazed that it was more fun than the Hornet. Great stuff. Although I'm not sure it's more fun than a new ZX6-R, so I feel okay!

The 675 daytona is just fooooookin lovely, and quite scarily fast (in a :D way) so a naked one of those sounds excellent to me.
If it has the daytonas handling too then I'd be tempted to chop in (teehee) a kidney too!

That's probably a sensible approach to take cause since I rode one I've done nothing but think about how I can raise the extra cash I'd need to get one! Think it may be too late for me now though, resistance is futile, n'all that.

Apparently (and who wouldn't believe a salesman??), to keep the price competitive, Triumph have reduced dealer margins compared to other bikes in their range and I was told to expect no discount for cash and bottom book price for any part-ex. Still want one/need, though.

Speed Triple with that low carbon M4 looks really, really good.

Mate of mine has ordered his.
He suffers with his legs, so can't ride many bikes ( been stuck with a Hornet for years) He took the Triumph out, half an hour later he was signing on the dotted line, said what an excellent bike it was.

Price conditioning at it's very best.:smt045

If you'd just like to place your feet in the areas marked on the floor in front of that desk, bend over and place your hands where marked on the table, I'll get the invoice ready for you sir. Oh, and if you could just drop those trousers too sir. That's it.
Now if you could just sign here please ;)

On a new bike that is getting excellent reviews there is very little discount as there will be some other lucky person to take your place on the waiting list.

I just hope there is no way they can get some wind protection on it comparable to the sv. I have said a triumph will be my next bike, then i bought the thou. Next time it will definately be a triumph.

I love it too. Looks even better than the new hornet! The naked middleweight market is saturated. Choice is huge so they could not price it much higher to be competitive. I would love one but I still think Tuono is the next bike for me.

Oh god, I think I'll have to stop reading this thread too.
