See, is that not what you're Gixxer can do anyway? 3 secs & 9 secs to 100KPH & 200KPH (OK not the 224mph)

Yeah, that looks nice - but check this out:

Bristol Fighter T (http://www.bristolcars.co.uk/FighterT.htm) Power - 1012bhp. Torque - 1036 lbft, and it's British.

Bristol Web Site (http://www.bristolcars.co.uk/) for more deeply, deeply desirable motors.

Hmmm... Bristol Fighters....

If you are in london and want to see some in the flesh their london showroom is near the corner of kensington high street and the A3220 (I always forget the name of that road). They look nice, but never seen on actually running.

That company also has a C20LET (2.0 16v Turbo) Nova up for sale. Owner done a runner after asking them to build it for them and they came back with a silly rebuild price.

They were trying to recover costs for the car of £25,000 on ebay. For a Vauxhall Nova. Even the cream of the crop doesn't go for over £8k

They have dropped the price to something like £17,000, but I don't think they get it that NO-ONE is going to pay that for it.

(For notes, it should cost around £5000 all in to buy the car, and fit it, with big brakes, coilover suspension etc).

Are Bristol now the only remaining British car manufacturer?
Or have they also been snapped up by some cash happy foriegn mafia interests?

I think Lotus and Ariel are still Britsh. Could be wrong though.

Yes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Cars)

In 1996 a majority share in Lotus was sold to Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (Proton), a Malaysian car company listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

I think the Gumpert can be classed as a nice car.

However, there is (IMHO) only 1 vehicle that deserves the title 'SUPERCAR' -

the only car built (AFAIK) with no compromise whatsoever -

the Mclaren F1 :smt045 :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

If you want THE BEST - you have to pay for it !!

Did someone mention a Maclaren F1? We had the priveledge of 'playing' with this one for a few miles. He could have left us for dead, but was quite happy to have a bit of fun with us. The guy driving it was delivering this car, and collecting an Enzo. Great job to have:D

Yee ha!

Yeah gimmie an Ariel Atom anyday of the week.

Can I ask, what's the fuel consumption like on those supercars?
Are the Co2 outputs high enough to fit into Mr Brown's new tax bracket for polluting vehicles?
Do you think in a few years from now somebody might assault you for driving something like that?

Please save the planet it's the only one we got. :smt045

Well, at the risk of never getting my moty-sickle fixed ever again, I have to agree with Scoobs here... It's quite nice up til you get to the rear wheel, then they just ran out of designy-ness...

Looks like GT model. Even cooler than the standard one.

The guy driving it said it was originally one of their 'works' cars. It only had one seat, not the three I think they usually have, and lots of technical-looking gizmo's filling the rest of the space.( Can you tell I'm not 'technical'?:D)

Lissa, that is a cheesy grin, fun was it :D

I have to say that Bristol is really nice, It different looking and I like, but then like Scoobs says, I ride a Chavy bike so what do I know.

They make those Aerials not far from where I live in Crewkerne just down the road, I've seen a fair few on the road, very cool.

I'm not a fan of that particular Bristol, but this one is gorgeous:

http://www.bristolcars.co.uk/BlenheimSpeedster.htm

As to supercars like the one this thread is about, I'd rather an Ultima GTR and they're cheaper too.
