I think this article is worth a read. I wonder where everyone stand on this. Having been in situations fairly regularly where violence breaks out/ intimidating behaviour from kids/ violence I still am yet to step in. I've chased kids before, but only when in a situation when I know I will win. I've also bailed out of situations when they take a violent turn knowing I'll get a kick in - but at the possible expense of someone elses nose (nothing I'm proud of but I'd do the same again)
