Knees close together, peaky, narrow bars and couldn't see a blooming thing in the mirrors. My neck was killing me after 10 miles as I had to lift my head up so high my helmet caught me in the neck.
I liked it!
I couldn't believe how gutless it was before 6K, I couldn't go higher than 2nd in 30mph zones. We hit some NSL sections and I gave it some wrist action. The twin Termis booming under my bum felt good. It dropped into corners like no other bike I've ever ridden. I was wearing jeans and was seriously in danger of getting my knee down, on the road!

I get off and the owner explains it's an 840cc kit in his 748 SPS, chipped and set up for the track. That 'xplains the peaky part then.

He loved my SV, reckons it's smooth and better than a stock one he rode before.

Would I buy one?

No, too extreme for the kind of riding I do. If I was a trackday addict I'd say yes, but for everyday commuting and the occasional ride out I think I'll stick with my SV.

Razor...You need to try out a 749. Very, very different from the iconic 748 in both riding position and response from the motor.Trust me on that.;)

.
I can't get out of first until i hit about 35mph on my 749, not that it's a problem, 1st is a nice long gear and it's still not revving very high at 35 cos you can get up to over 90mph in first if you wanted to.

No, don't know anybody with a 749, but next week I'll be riding a 916 ;)
