So I'm thinking of taking the mudguard off (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1270194#post1270194) and I notice that there are two neatly threaded holes in it which don't appear to do anything...

It's a faired K6 and the holes are behind the forks, directly above the point the rear mounting bolts go in. Heres a view from the right hand side.

Is something missing? I suspect the fairys drilled them yesterday because I swear I've never seen them before!

They are mounts for reflectors that are mandatory in other countries.

What he said.

Lots of places (America is one that springs to mind) requires reflectors on the side of the front forks (don't know if they have to be there, or if they can be anywhere on the side of the bike, but that's always where they're mounted).

Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! Gotcha.

Nothing to do with the fairys then, good.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, here in the US, reflectors are mandatory as are mirrors at the time of sale. You can remove these items and leave them in the parking lot of the dealer so they can get rid of them!!
