Ok,

As a few of you may know, I put my bike on ebay. Well, check out the guy who bought it:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300142659010&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:IT&ih=020

Alarm bells are ringing! Call me a pessimist, but I don't think I will hear a peep out of this guy. How long can I leave it before I write this one off?? I'm pretty much out if time now to sell it before I leave, so shipping is the most likely option, but I need to get a move on if I am do do it before I leave.

Advice welcome

Thanks
Luke

Have you obtained the buyers contact information, http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9 and given him a ring?

Contact the winning bidder, ask for a collection date, offer suggestions, remind them they need to collect it within a week and that if they haven’t responded within 48hrs that due to time pressures, you will sell to the next highest bidder. Contact the next highest bidder TODAY and voice your concern about the highest bidder having a feedback of zero. Ask them if they would be willing to buy it at their highest bid. Suggest that if the highest bidder hasn’t contacted you within 2 days that you will sell it to them if they come up with the cash (again saying you are leaving the country so it needs to go, you don’t want any messing).

Sure if they were genuine and you end up selling it behind the highest bidders back before they legitimately get back to you then you do .. worst case you get –ve feedback .… but you still get shot of the bike before your deadline … we are talking £4.5k here ...

Yeah, the lives in swindon. The postcode checks out to the street name he has given but the phone number has far too many numbers in it to be real

You're forgetting packaging! It's wrapped up in one of my A-level art paintings - currently valued at £3000

If you are really concerned I would contact him as often as you can via ebay,s email system then if in say 48 hrs he hasnt got back to you report him as a non paying bidder and offer it to the next bidder down.
good luck with it

just cos he's got no feedback or bought anything before is no reason to write him off as a waste of space is it? Or did i miss something more relvant?

When i first registered and boought my first item i too had no ffeback or anything.

on a recent purchase the seller had the nerve to say "since you've only ever bought 3 items...blah blah" like that has any relevance on how trustworthy or honest i am. And this from a seller who has sat on my money for over a month, lied about despatching goods etc and then finaly sent me son=mething that looks nothing like what was advertised.

Good luck with it anyway Luke.

I know - couple of things though. I asked anyone with 0 feedback to contact me first before bidding. He never did that though he did have time as he put in a bid a day or 2 earlier.

I don't want to post the guys address on here as it may be genuine, but he is missing some of it and the phone number isn't a valid uk number either - has about 4 too many numbers, so I'm doubtful it's a typing error

Ok, the next highest bidder is willing to take it. I am thinking that a bird in the hand here may be the way to go. I don't have time to mess around and I still haven't heard anything from Mr badboy-2007. I know I should wait to see if he honours his bid, but I don't/can't hang around for 2 days to find out.

Maybe it's just me, but if I had potentially spent 4.5k on a bike, i'd probably talk to the seller fairly quickly.

If they will take it, sell it behind the winning bidders back, like you said, he violated one of the terms by not contacting you first anyway ...

Just did. And he'll pick it up tomorrow and pay in cash!
