Damn it!

My SV650 just got towed...

I got pulled over for running a red light, and when he checked my insurance, the insurance said my bike was a 2001 Red SV650. My bike had recently been painted, and I was confused and told him it was a 2003 version. So, he checked my VIN number and for some reason, it didn't match up with my insurance...

So I don't have my SV650 for a few days, and I have a thousand dollars in fines...

Bugger, where are you from. Here in england they have the power to crush unisured vehicles.

Do you think you might have bought a cloned bike? How long ahve you had it

I dunno... I just said 2003 for some odd reason.

They don't have the power to crush my bike, I'm in Canada. Thankfully, the bike is now sitting in my driveway (which it will continue to do till I can get this thing figured out).

It's not a cloned bike, I think that somewhere along the line, during transfers, someone has screwed up the VIN.

I had a civic type r and only found out when I came to px it that the original dealers had supplied it with the WRONG NUMBER PLATES!!!

I imagined that it wasn't neccessary to check up on a honda main dealer getting something so obvious so wrong.

Wonder how many times the owner of the Yaris the number belonged to got photos of my car through the post :D

Just glad that I pxed the car before I got stopped in it. I would have had a bit of talking to do to get out of that one (although the supplying dealers details on the numberplates would hopefully have given my story some cred)

I was actually suprised to find that the dvla do not enter the details on on the v5 from a predefined list of details or at least dont appear to. When I got my new sv650 k3 it the v5 was claiming that it was a 1000cc. All the other details were correct and I can only assume that the details were accidentally manually chaged or there was an incorrect data input.
