As title … I don’t really go to bike meets … I am not sure I really see the point …

What counts as a bike meet?
Good point ...
A well known ‘regular’ event (as examples, ones I have heard of are Poole Quey, Ace Café, lord derby etc etc) ... not just going round your biking mates ...
Been to two at Knott End in the last two weeks. Going to start a night course in Japanese at local college in 3 weeks, so thats going out the window.
Point seems to be look at shiny bikes, and strike up conversations with complete strangers about whatever seems interesting at the time, including what flavour of ice cream to order.

If I wanted to look at shiny bikes, I'd go to my local dealership!! :D
If I wanted to strike up a conversation with a random person, it'd be with a bit of flange, not a hairy male biker!! :D ... Lets face it the flange levels at a bike meet are going to be sparse ... and the ones that are - are probably there with their BF - or hairy munters!! :D

no, i have not been to any, i normally end up in abergavenny most sundays, and porthcawl some wednesday nights, but i would not class these as "bike meets"
and dont like hanging about drinking tea for too long, as i would rather be riding

Not sure what goes on at the Bulldog Bash, but I'd say Race Meets don't count as you are not going there for going there's sake ...

Quite ... if I wanted to go out for a 'ride' I'd go out for a ride ... and I wouldn't go anywhere near a 'known' bike event as the roads in the local area are bound to be better policed?!?!? ;)
Don't go to any when I'm out for a ride by myself but if I'm out with my dad and his mates we usually go to one. The point is just somewhere to aim for on an evening, have a walk round then go home.

Bet your dealership doesn't have vintage Nortons and BSA's though. Or custom (partially) built trikes based on a 1.3 litre escort engine.

Seems to be an English "thing". Like Morris dancing?:p
Must be because your overly populated , heavily policed roads make doing any actual riding of motorcycles less than satisfying. (...but if you don't know any better!);)

I enjoy going to Abergavenny and watching folks with immaculate BMW GSs look at me like my bike has got some sort of plague.
Nope, don't really do the bike meet thing. Don't really get anything from it but the usual aggro I get from random strangers all the time. My neighbours who have bikes and I, we go for a ride and then have a pint in the local after the bikes are locked up and the leathers are put away. The only standing around we do, in bike gear, is while waiting to fill the bikes with go juice at the local pump palace.
I call in at Boxhill if I'm passing - on the way home in need of a brew/ pitstop - that count?

I use the term interchangeably with the word ‘pelt’, which I think is an even more fitting term!! 8)

Never.
I don't group ride as I consider it dangerous.
I don't go anywhere near events because there are too many cops around.
Plus biking seems to have been taken over by the middle class types and I whilst I don't dislike them I don't really like them and their attitudes either.

Indeed, us members of the aristocracy don't like circulating within the riffraff middle classes, it’s just not fitting, but sometimes it is necessary … I try not to touch them mind!!! :D

How would you know that if you don't group ride or go to events?
Are you suggesting that the .org is terribly middle class?
