View Full Version : best time to advertise on ebay?
the sv is going on ebay, starting price of £999 no reserve.
but im a little confussed (it dont take much i know)
I always list stuff on a 10 day listing, starting on a Thursday evening - then you get two full weekends worth of viewing and it finishes on the final Sunday evening...
I find that works (for me anyway ;))
if i place the add on a thursday night it will end on a satuday night........ wont it?

If you list on a Thursday evening/night it will end on a Sunday evening/night. If you do a 10 day listing it is probably best to do it on a Wednesday/Thursday at between 4pm & 9pm. If its a 7 day listing, list it on Sunday at between 4pm and 9pm.

You can list it at anytime and pay 6p for a timed start. Makes it easier than making sure you list it at a certain time of day

list it so it finishes on the 1st-5th of the month, most people get paid at the end of the month and you want to bag them before they spend it elsewhere;)
so tomorrow for a 10 day start seems about the best?
when is the best time to advertise on ebay
When you got something worth selling ;):D
When you got something worth selling ;):D

I start on a Monday, 7 day listing, 10:30pm ending. That way it's been on view for a weekend but ending on a Monday night because that's when people are home. You can ignore me if you want, but I made £700 on ebay this past month.
do you still pay if
a) it dont sell
b) you retract it early

no you don't pay if it doesn't sell (make reserve price) or you end the item. Just add a line to the description saying that 'you reserve the right to end the auction as it's advertised else where'.

I have always though ending on sunday evening is a good time, most people are at home ready for monday moring and hopefully in a good mood after the weekend.

Yes you do pay the listing fees, but not the final value fees.
