It is not the work of one giant spider - rather, millions of small ones have been spinning away and now it is twice the size of a football field.

Park rangers are not sure why the spiders have joined forces - they describe it as a rare occurrence.

OMG!!! It's begun!!! They're preparing to take over the world!

You're supposed to be the knight in shining armour rescuing her from the dreaded beasties. Shame on you!

Now go stick your head back in that box that you used to have in your avatar.

I used to have a pet Tarantula - she was really sweet. You could play with her - she'd stand on your palm (filling it) and you could brush the back of one leg and she'd hold it up in the air. Then do the same with another leg - alternating sides. She'd hold them up until she was standing on only three legs - try to make her lift one of those and she'd put one of the others down first before lifting the new one up.
Awesome.
She used to move really slowly too, unless she was hunting than she was lightening fast.

Even got out of her tank to patrol the living room!
Found a tiny webtrail down the front of the Iguana's tank one morning. Evidence that she'd got out - but there she was sitting back in her tank. Cleaned the web off and it was back two days later.
Staked out the living room by the light of a couple of candles that night - sure enough, she climbed up, flipped open the feeding hatch to her tank, went on a patrol round the skitring board - killed some beetle - and dragged it back to her tank...

... then closed the hatch behind herself!

Seeing her shed her skin was fascinating too. Kinda climbed out of her own back - all fresh and new, soft n hairy. Leaving behind a perfect twin, still hairy and even with the sheaths for her fangs. Still got one of the skins in a box somewhere.

We have an absolutely enormous spider lurking around somewhere at the moment (unless one of the cats has eaten it) I think it's behind the tv, as a couple of times it's run out from behind there, scooted across the living room.............including over my foot once when I didn't spot it on the move quickly enough............and then back again. I'm not particularly bothered about it being there, but then spiders don't really bother me unless one runs on me unexpectedly, and that's just a conditioned response. I'm sure.

Taratula's are cool. So are snakes and lizards. I once had a Sudan plated lizard called Des:D

That's amazingly cool. I love spiders- thought they still creep me out a little.

Did y'all read about that German guy who was eaten by his creepy crawly collection? They reckon that his black widow killed him, then the rest too over. >shudders< I don't envy the police officers who walked in on that...

Now that I HAD to google!
A GERMAN man who lived with over 200 black widow spiders was fatally bitten by one and then eaten by his other pet creepy-crawlies.

Police found Mark Voegel, 30, in his apartment partially eaten by his pet spiders, several snakes, lizards and thousands of termites, Sun.co.uk reported.

Neighbours called police after becoming worried about the smell coming from Voegel's apartment.

Police were met by an unforgettably gruesome scene.

“It was like a horror movie. His corpse was over the sofa," a police spokesman said.

“Giant webs draped him, spiders were all over him. They were coming out of his nose and his mouth.

“There was everything there one could imagine in the world of reptiles.

“Larger pieces of flesh torn off by the lizards were scooped up and taken back to the webs of tarantulas and other bird-eating spiders.”
