That is a pretty mad speed on the Woodhead pass itself.

This might be it http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=531_1188170101 176mph!
And that's exactly why there are thousands of cameras and biking on the nations roads will eventually fizzle out. Save it for the track!
Big bro here we come...

First of all ... COOL :smt041
Secondly, you have to be pretty stoopid to put a vid up like that where you are crossing white lines and speeding ... with your mates numberplate in view ;)
Thirdly is raining (or at least drizzling), he is doing 176mph ACROSS wet white lines and cornering ... now that is large sacks!! :smt103
Finally, I am not convinced that is 176mph ... video is deceptive, but it just doesn' look that fast (it is over a ton, but 176??) ... we could prolly work out if it is accurate using the bollards at the side of the road???
A lot of sports bikes run the speed sensor from the front sprocket, gear the bike down massively with sprocket changes and you read 180mph when only doing say 130.
So I am skeptical about the true speed, but if that is all 100% legit, that bike is a rocket ship .. see how quick it got up to that sort of speed!!! 8)

I'm pretty sure he's changed his speedo to km/h for extra bragging rights. It just didn't look like 176mph. Besides, crossing solid lines, some rather dodgy overtakes all while the roads where damp and the light was fading adds up to my conclusion that these two are utter eejits. There is a time and a place for that sort of riding and that wasn't it.
I'm all for having a laugh on the bike but that was sheer stupidity. Big cojones on the bloke though for that last left kink at the sort of speeds on a damp road.
This was on the news, apparently ITV tipped the police off. It doesn't look that bad to me. So is there now going to be an entire police division looking for speeders on youtube? So much for the internet being the last place of true freedom. :smt021

I have a copy of 5 guys on the A77 doing up to 175mph .
The video lasts for about 25 mins and features some of the most reckless and stupid riding I have ever seen .. think filtering at 145mph........
no wonder we get a bad name...

That was fairly terrifying viewing. Perhaps he's never fallen off before! Probably only a matter of time [-X

At the end of the day if it was those kind of speeds then the bloke is a fool. He does nothing to help the image of bikers and as a minority unfortunately things like that must be considered. Poeple like this will only lead to bikers being persecuted even more. If he can aford a bike to do that kind of speed then why can he not afford to go on a track day? Winker, well and truly!

Deffo in metric I mean did you see that gentle left sweeper with an indicated 93 he wasn't even leaning and looked about 57 mph anyway

But on the other hand, are all of those vehicles really just doing <30km/h (about 18/19mph) up that not particularly steep looking hill? I agree the bits with an indicated high speed don't look as fast, but I'd be amazed if the most he hits there is about 110mph. Whatever the bike, sounds like a fast 4 pot though, from a rolling start at a fair speed, down a hill, and wide open for that long, he'd be travelling faster than that. (Surely?).
My guess is the sprocket thing blue mentions, but how far out it is I don't know.

My thoughts exactly, it just doesn't tie up if it were KMH ... I stick with my theory of sprocket changes and over reading ... but by how much??? ...

Those cars were practically stationary. He filtered past them at 39 anyway.
Also - he's doing 170+ in fourth ;)
Got to be km/h
-silly, but haven't we all had one of those moments :) it keeps me sane!
