Just been to visit my wife in Chorley hospital and the police are turning traffic around in front of the hospital.
Been told it is a fatal bike, poor sod is only 26 and it was his first time out after passing his test.
Makes me think about those first nervous miles. The way I learnt from my mistakes and the stuff I got away with as I picked up experience.
Sorry I never met you or even know your name. But 1 day or 50 years on a bike, when you get bitten by the bug you just have to do it.

I normally go home on that road, and wondered why it was closed and i had to detour.
God i feel terrible now knowing why :smt009
ITs only a 40mph road as well with a set of traffic lights and didnt see it as a dangerous road (although it was wet today)..Reminds to be extra carefull
RIP buddy. Enjoy the roads up there.

News report here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/6973752.stm
Although the report says on a bend, it is only just one and good for licence loosing speeds. We have to wait for the investigations, It was a slightly damp evening here last night but that road is in a good state of repair. I guess his inexperience must have played a big part.

RIP chap.
I think I had two or three seriously close near misses on the first ride I went out after my CBT.
RIP.

RIP gods speed fella
So sad to hear about these incidents. RIP fella.
Thats such a shame.
How many times have we all told ourselves off after yet another close encounter? Sometimes it is like a game of chance. Mostly, we win and it's not til later we realise the danger.
But lets not be hasty, for all we know he did nothing wrong.
Just one of those cruel things that happen in life.
RIP dude. :smt085
Shocking. What a tragedy. My thoughts are with his family.

I was told last night that there is a possibility that the woman in the white car may have clipped him . Anyway she was at the scene and failed to stop

Good evening all.
R.I.P. Indeed poor fellow...It shouldn't, but it always seems worse when it's a biker that has died in a road accident, probably because you can bet that it was down to someone making a stupid mistake.
Cheers.
