hovis .. i take it then you have a tig welder my friend??? what do you need welding on your bike and are you sure it's ally?? i know it's a daft question but trust me you want to make sure first!!

Hovis is the side stand mount onto the main frame or is it a bolt on part of frame ?

hovis.. stick a magnet on the metal if it sticks it's steel or has steel in it's make up.. if it doesnt stick it's ally.

its the headstock i need welding, i dont know where the sidestand question
came from?

the sidestand question came from me i am thinking about a accident damaged blade but the frame is cracked at the stand mount but i dont know if its part of the main frame or a bolt on part

ahhhhhhhh i thought you meant the sv. right, just had a look,the sidestand bolts onto a bracket but the bracket is bolted to the main frame (on my 97)

if frame is cracked leave it alone.. it's a write off mate even if the side stand is bolted on at the stand mount the frame is an integral part of the bikes structure if it's cracked walk away.

i think i will just leave it well alone

When you find somebody to weld your bike disconnect the battery or you could damage the electrics

the black bits are bolt on, but the silver bit is the main frame
