Having read a few pieces on here theres a few references to pointy and curvy. At the risk of sounding really thick I haven't a clue what its referring to would someone let me know what they are please

A knackered Curvy is still miles better than a New Pointy!!!!!:p:p:p
Welcome to the site, both to you and your alter-ego.

I believe Dominos Pizza use curvys (Especially Yellow ones) to deliver their pizzas - So remember, each time you see a curvy with a topbox, the rider doesn't carry more than £10 in change.
Pointy all the way, they look so much better and modern, and remind me of the original R1 when they appear in your mirrors.

Yeah, they used to use pointies, but the customers complained that the pizza's were always cold:p

Thats cause Pointys go so much faster they cool the pizzas down!

I think I might have to admit to being thick after all as I think its a pointy -I must let you know I haven't a dual personality, my alter ego when I say 'we' is my sister below (pic taken today just before she fell off and knackered the bike and a rib :D)

It's true. And he'll be a student trying to get by on not much more
BTW anyone noticed how the yamaha motogp bikes are now sporting a curvy fairing, and not a pointy one?

Look at the aerodynamics, the lovely pointy cuts through the air where as the curvy is like a little kid folding his coat inside out above his arms when it's windy to act like a sail.

No no no no no, all those jaged edges cause more tubulence. Gracefull curves guide the air around and off the motorcycle, making curvys go faster
Matt
If the curvy hadn't been so brilliant, there never would have been a pointy. In changing it, they did so in such a way as to make production more cost effective. Newer, is not always better.

What's wrong with that then  I thought everyone did or is it just me?
Anyway if they only made brand spanking new curvy's me thinks it would put the pointy's out of biz :smt045

I always thought a curvy looked like the bits of stress ball that bulge out of your hand when you squeeze them. . . . . . . . . or a molten welly boot . . . . . . . . or Vanessa Feltz in a thong. :laughat:
Only kidding. I actually fancy Vanessa Feltz :smt060

You never see a pointy woman now do you?
You cant beat those sensual curves when you sit astride a curvey and press your legs into the..............................
I'm getting carried away now.
Exit, stage left
I can't see much of my bike when I'm riding it!?

No, the best ever colour for the SV curvey or pointy was Candy Grand Blue.
But i have to admit the Sport versions with full lowers look great in Black!!

wots wrong with a pointy it looks the b******s8-),the curveys look out dated:smt045
My Hornet's rather curvey :p
As a non-SV owner, this is my take as to which is best.
Naked:
Blue curvey. End of.
"S" version:
2005 black pointy with the black frame.
Pointy. Blue. In the words of Tracey from Big Brother: "AAVVIIIIIITTT!!!"
Karen was that you and a black SV with 2 people on and two other bikes in a petrol station near Cheshunt this afternoon about 3:45?
:)
got my curvy 6 weeks ago but suspension was a death trap.took it back today and got a Bandit, does that count as a curvy

Yeah. A curvy BANDIT numb nuts! Get off this site! He he he.
:)
oh ok bye
Oh don't be so sensetive Gid. What's gid stand for? What was wrong with the suspension on the SV? There's a bandit and SV club out there somewhere. Your first bike?
:)

Thats cause Pointys go so much faster they cool the pizzas down!
Thats because the pointys have poor aerodynamics, hence the medical term "Pointyitis" ( caused by having to hang on for dear life :P )
Jas...
Started on an 04 pointy but alas wrote it off :( As a short ar5e (ok short legs sounds better) I had to have it lowered but still had a few problems with it at low/stop speed. I now have a lowered 02 and I love it. Ok I agree not so perdy but I'm comfy with it. Sexy candy blue a must ;) whichever you ride.
It's just down to personal choice but at the end of the day we all (nearly all) choose the SV :-D

Yeah I think you'll find the hanging on for dear life thing is because they're quicker than the curvey ones. Curves beloing on women, not bikes. I suppose you could say that pre '03 bikes are a bit girly!
:-D
mmmmmmmmm somepeople think they r right,we know we r.Curvies 4 ever(even though I saw the light and got a Bandit)
He he he (Monkeyboy discreetly pulls a stun gun out from his pocket and gives gid a whacking great belt right in the *r**)
Good on ya!
:)
have you been peepin through my window monkeyboy
I was but now I'm inside. Don't look behind the curtain......
Sorry to derail!
Carry on!
:)
Pointy all the way - silver naked K3s look good, as do black faired ones with the lowers fitted.
SVs don't really suit the usual Suzuki shell-suit graphics that the Gixers get.
Pointy - it's the only way to be sure.
